Swollen belly on one side only

I am 4 months post op. I notice that many of the posts discuss weight gain and swelling. I have lost a good deal of weight so my swelling is not due to excess weight. Before my surgery I had a totally flat stomach. 4 months post op and I am swollen over one part of my abdomen only. It's like a little pouch over the right of my incision area. There is also some lingering discomfort/soreness seeming to come from the inside of my stomach. My dr. sent me for an ultrasound 6 weeks postop since I was more swollen than expected. That revealed that I was holding fluid but no addition concerns. No hernia, no infection, etc. They said it just takes the body longer to absorb excess fluid sometimes. Anyway, I know my dr. will say it's just a matter of time, but is is possible that this swelling is here to stay??? I had an ectopic pregnancy many, many years ago and had a bikini incision, they opened the same incision for my hysterectomy. My stomach was totally flat after that surgery. Is this normal?

Thanks for any responses! Have a great day!

Swollen belly on one side only

I'm 4 weeks post op and have a weird, little puffy pouchy thing also over the right side of my incision - it's sore/tender. I asked the Dr. 2 weeks ago, and she said to keep an eye on it, but I don't go back until 11/27.

She mentioned fluid also, but I'm worried about a hernia. It's only about the size of a half-dollar, but freaks me out and gets worse at the end of the day.

I am 10 months post op and had that flat stomach you refer to. I had two c-sections all surgeries through the same incision, and my left side is noticably bigger than my right. I have had two CT scans which reveal nothing, but I still have pain and have decided to live with it until at least summer... Best of luck to you girls!

my right side seems a little puffier, at times. I have some sort of definite difference in how my right side feels, esp below my incision area.

My right side seems puffier at times as well. Just figured it was my body (good friends tell me I'm weird). Hopefully it will go down over time.
