Radiation tx completed!!!!

I had my last tx yesterday.....an internal one. Even though I have to go back every 3 months for a chest x-ray and CT scan, I feel like I am beginning a new chapter in my life. Soooo glad I had the TAHBSO, cancer was found and treated.

11/13 was 3 months since surgery. I have lost 32 pounds without trying. DD wedding is in 3 weeks and I finally found my dress Tuesday. I'm glad this year is going out on a positive note.

Good luck to all of you still in tx or getting ready for it. It does go by fast.

That's great news, I'm really pleased for you. I've got a wedding to go to also, in December. I know how difficult it is to find the right outfit! It's lovely for you to have something special to look forward to. I hope you and your daughter have a wonderful day. Congratulations again on finishing your treatment!

Hey Red Hot!!
I finished mine on Wednesday and we are headed for a month long vacation tomorrow!! YIPPPPEEEEE!!! I was actually hoping I'd lose a little weight during all of this but I gained about 10 pounds from checking in for my hysterectomy on August 29 till now. I am hoping to get back to my regular diet: lots of fresh fruits and vegetables which I haven't had since October 1. I did eat a salad Sunday and another salad today. I didn't get diarrhea but today I had an urgent rush to the bathroom after eating. Our vacation starts with a 20 hour car trip. Hope the urgency doesn't strike too often.
Raising a glass filled with hope for continued good results for both of us- Cheers!

A month long vacation!! How nice! I know everyday will be a good one. As for a long car trip.....my friend suggests a 5 gallon paint bucket, garbage bags and scoopable kitty litter for emergencies. (Hurricane survivor)

I miss fruits, veggies and salads. I have been exiting mostly on toast and baked potatoes. Oh, I miss cereal too.

One thing I don't miss are pillow size maxi pads!! It is so wonderful to be pad free. No yucky discharge!

The surgical menopause I was MOST concerned about has been a walk in the park. Nothing but mild hot flashes. (Thank you Prozac).

Raising my glass back at cha, Hope. Be sure to share your vacation stories with us when you get back.

to you for completing your treatments! I, too, lost 30 lbs during the surgery/treatment months. Unfortunately, I slowly gained most of it back, so keep an eye on it! The explosive diarrhea ended the last day of treatment and never returned; my appetite returned, though shortly after the treatments ended (hence, the weight gain, I suppose )
