Painful sex and bleeding with granulation

Has anyone out there ever had pain and bleeding with sex that went away after granulation tissue was treated with a laser? My DR wants to do a lap too because he doesn't believe granulation tissue alone can cause pain but when he touched it I almost jumped off the table. I guess I should add it is on the vaginal cuff. I don't want more surgery! Any and all input would be much appreciated. Thanks

Painful sex and bleeding with granulation

Hi,

I am sorry you are having pain from the granulation and treatment. I found it very sensitve in there and my doctor when he was doing the treatment was surprised it hurt me so much. I believe we are all different with the pain level we experience and how long it takes us to heal.

I was treated for granulation 3x( over several months) with silver nitrate. The third time there was removal of tissue in the office and even though he sprayed something to deaden it I still felt like jumping off the table.

I would say it took at least a month for this final treatment to heal with no intercourse during this time. I think some may take longer.

You might give it a sufficient amount of time to be sure it is thoroughly healed inside.

Laser is different than silver nitrate so maybe the laser removed more tissue and yours will take longer to heal than one with silver nitrate.

Hopefully someone will come along who had the laser to give you a better idea on the healing process from it.

I hope it gets better for you soon.

Granulation tissue

I am 5 months out & had 3 silver nitrate treatments by week 7. I went back at 4 months because I was still having a yellow discharge. He did an extended silver nitrate treatment & mentioned that he would check me again on 11/21/07 and if it is still not healed he might try freezing the area (cryosurgery) or some other type of surgery. I don't think that it is healed so it sounds like I will be going through some other type of treatment soon. Good luck to you.

Painful sex and bleeding with granulation

Was the area of the granulation tissue painful (with intercourse or exam). Sorry if this is getting personal. I really need to know before this surgery. I don't want to have this surgery if it is just my DR. being uninformed. Thanks so much.....

Painful sex and bleeding with granulation

Eight months after my surgery I had a little bleeding after intercourse. It scared me because I had no idea why I was bleeding. I saw my Dr. and he said I had granulation tissue and he did a silver nitrate treatment. I had a second treatment about a month later. The teatments hurt (alot) and my Dr. said they usually don't, mine sure did. I was also a bit uncomfortable the following day. I haven't had any problems since.
Good luck to you.

Painful sex and bleeding with granulation

I just had my first granulation removal session yesterday with silver nitrate. I don't know what hurt more, the silver nitrate or the speculum. I never used to have pain with a vaginal exam but he said he had to open me up extra wide to have access to all the areas, most of which were on my vaginal cuff. No one ever told me about this. I had bleeding after intercourse for days and it (the act itself) didn't even feel that good. The Dr. sent me to a phmacological lab to have them mix me up a special potion of estradiol and testosterone to bring back the elasticity and thickness to my vagina. Meanwhile, I have to go back in 2 months to see if I need more silver nitrate treatments. Ok, girls. I used to REALLY enjoy intimacy but now.....oy vey! Between the discomfort (it isn't so bad once we get going with added lube), the bladder infections (I've had 3 since July), the bleeding, and the thinning of my "parts," I'd rather curl up in bed with a good book, turn off the light, and call it a night.
*sigh*
P.S. I haven't been here for a while. It is SO cool that I logged on and found this topic almost immediately!
