Insult to Injury and Back Again - Further Complications

Dina!

My goodness, woman! You've certainly been through a wringer.

You asked for prayers, you've certainly got 'em!

I don't know why you say you can't rest (but I expect I know because I have a toddler at home and work full time, too) but you MUST. You simply MUST. I hope and pray that you get all the loving support you need right now.

Bless you, dear - I hope you get well real soon!

s and es!

You are in my prayers. I hope you are on the road to recovery and healing. I hope your DH and family are supportive and taking care of you.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers of support, and thanks SallyL for your story -- it's very reassuring to know that someone else made it through a "domino effect" where their health is concerned.

As for getting rest, I meant that more figuratively than literally. My mind is going a million miles a minute each day, thinking that the slightest twinge or bit of dizziness is just the tip of the next iceberg I'm about to crash into. I am, however, LITERALLY resting. I'm getting downtime (but also the much-needed up-time), I've been able to sleep mostly -- I'm up twice a night to pee now, as compared to the previous five to seven times.

And today I was brave and post-shower, I changed the dressing on my right tummy, where they took the drain out. I have a lovely hole there, which has fused shut (miracle of miracles), and it's quite the pretty sight... Otherwise, all seems to be improving. I will probably have my husband drag out my cheapie elliptical machine (the doc actually recommended I use it because of complete lack of impact, as long as I used it slowly just to keep my blood moving, now that I'm off the blood thinners).

And yes, my parents were a God-send. But so are you ladies. Thank you again. So much!
Dina

Insult to Injury and Back Again - Further Complications

I had a laporoscopic partial hysterectomy on Sept 5. Went home the next day and everything was fine. I was walking within 4 days at least a half of mile. But the thing is when I was leaving the hospital I had told the nurse that I was feeling dizzy and she said there is no reason for it so I went home. I was only taking tylenol for the pain and walking like they had told me to do. But I had experienced the same brown bleeding with the odor and had went to my hematologist because of feeling so tired and weak. I didn't get to see my gyno as she was on vacation.. My blood was normal except for my iron being low..So that was on a Friday and on Tues. I was seeing my gyno still not feeling well and having the discharge with blood. She did a pap and found an infection..But 3 days later I was in the ER with excrutiating pain in my lower back and had also passed a blood clot at home. The reason for going to the ER.. They ran every test under the sun and too thought that I had an abcess. But when they took me into the OR more than 15 huors later they found out that I was hemorraging inside. Said that I had a slow leak in my cervix. It had taken 2 1/2 weeks to get full blown...They had to do abdominal surgery and found a massive hematoma with the leak.. Anyway cleaned me all up and spent the next 5 days in Hosp..
It has now been 8weeks since the second surgery... and I too thought every little pain was going to end me back up in there.. I still have thoughts go through my head about that but my DH keeps telling me everyday another day down and everything is alright....There is light at the end of this..I look back now and think if I would of just stopped and looked at the improvements every week instead of the pain and fear, I would of seen that my DH was right.. Take it day by day hour by hour and stop and smell the roses...Everytime a thought comes in my mind with the fear I take a look at my 8 year old son and say Thank you Lord for another day.......Every week you'll get stronger and stronger even though its very hard to see that right now.....

Lots of prayers,
Jamie

Wow! I am so glad you made it to the hospital and got help. If you really think about you described yourself as a mes but you are not a mess you are a miracle.
I will pray for you to get relief from your anxiety, rest, and healing.
Take care of yourself and I am glad you are home.
