Climara Patch - one day in, ripped it off.

Now, I am the first to admit here I am not in the best frame of mind since the hyst.

The doctor asked me to try the Climara Patch yesterday morning instead of the Premarin they prescribed on an emergency basis after the surgery.

Within hours, I felt this low-grade headache and a feeling of "brightness". I don't know how to explain it other than the world was TOO bright and I could not sleep ALL night and I just had this odd feeling like there was an intruder stuck to my body.

I know it sounds crazy, but that is how it felt.

Just now I ripped it off because I just could not stand it.

Has anyone else ever felt anything like that?

p.s. OMG, so itchy after it came off.

I am on the Femseven patch, have been since I had op 11 days ago, I can relate to headaches, I too have had a low grade one for about the last 8 days, but it's bearable and I have been told it will go within 14 days so only a coupe of more days to try. I haven't had any other symptoms.
Hope you get sorted x

I dont blame you...they say it takes time to adjust to the hormones, but I always know right away when I just wont be able to tolerate it. Maybe your doc can give you something else to try...good luck..Im still looking for something too!!!

Yeah, for now I am going to stick with the Premarin. I figure until I kick this bladder infection and pain, I don't feel like adding any extra frustration.

I had a low grade headache for the first two weeks as well. It ended up being from not enough estrogen. Maybe you weren't absorbing enough from the patch, or the dosage was not strong enough for you?? I had to try several kinds before I found one that worked ok (though I'm still trying to find that magic balance!) Maybe your doc needs to check your levels? Good luck!
