Swelly Belly after 3 1/2 months

Have any of you ladies experienced swelly belly 3-4 months post op. I've noticed lately that I seem a little bloated after a busy day of running, etc. I thought this far out that I wouldn't have this anymore. It's not painful or anything just swollen. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Swelly Belly after 3 1/2 months

I am 4 and a half months post op and still have swelly belly. Also just found out I have an incisional hernia and I think that is contributing to the swollen belly. I have felt a hard lump below the incision line for awhile but recently it got bigger so went to the dr to have it checked out.
Take care and I hope your swelly belly goes down soon.

belly

My belly looks bigger than it did with my huge fibroid!! I hate it. Have been exercising to no avail and I have gained a good 5 lbs which is not good as I am only 5 '3". I am vey discouraged. It's been 4 months, & it still feels numb in the area below my incision. (& hard)

Swelly Belly after 3 1/2 months

Don't worry. I still get swelly belly and I am 6 months out. I was getting to the point where I could exercise and now I am heading to the dr to see whats up.
I have been hurting on the left side, but I think the swelly belly is separate from my other issues.

Not discouraged...

I have read that it takes a good year to fully heal. I had my 3 mth pap last month and asked my dr. why i have some pains sometimes to the left and rt of my incision and if that is contributing to my swelling. He said it may be small hernias and we are just going to keep an eye on it. He also said I could take aleve to keep down the swelling and of course, rest the area. Keep your spirits up....that was major surgery you know!

Thanks for the replies ladies. Also the reminder about major surgery. Duh, you think I could remember that I DID have major surgery a few months ago. I have a tendency to try and do to much sometimes. I will remember not to push my self too hard. I started walking to try and get rid of the extra 20 lbs I'm carrying around. I gotta tell ya it's stuff getting rid of this belly. I'm only 5 3' too, so it shows in all the WRONG places Sending you all good thoughts and

Hi Daisy,
I know, sometimes its hard to think that we were barely moving a few months ago. I too am 5'3" and have gained some weight (in the wrong places) and the swelly belly doesn't help. I think I am liking the new long shirt fashion it helps to hide the belly. Hang in there hun, your not alone!

Swelly Belly after 3 1/2 months

I had my TAH around the same time as you and I'm still getting the odd swelly belly here and there.

Same with the weight - I'm only 5'1", it's all around my middle and I'm looking a little beachball-like It's been really tough trying to get it off.
Heading off to the gym to join today - gonna get rid of this extra weight somehow!
