Thanks Cancer cousin for the reply. It has been cold here in CA, in the 40's to 30's at night and I am cold all the time, my hands especially are like ice. No hot flashes yet but still very emotional. I think I will start using the progesterone cream and see if that helps.
Anyone going back to work at 4wks? I am going to try on Monday my 4 wk mark and am very nervous, but need to get some money in somehow, disability hasn't sent me anything yet! Hubby got laid off 11/1 and still hasnt' found work yet so I really need to start working. It's a desk job so hopefully I'll be ok as long as my brain will function properly!!
Speaking of insurance bills, I got mine $43K!! My portion willonly be around $400 thank God! Good to read about you all, keep on keeping on!

I was in the hospital for 9 days and had a bowel resection on top of that, so I am guessing my bill (which is fully covered) will probably be over $100,000.00! I could have bought a house with that!

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to thank everyone for all of their encouraging posts. Although all of our experiences are unique, it made it a little easier going through it with a little bit of knowledge from real people!

On 11/26, I had a TAH due to having endometrial cancer. I spent six days in the hospital due to my bowels being more than a little irritable. I started having sensations of acid reflux a day after surgery. Then started throwing up shortly therafter. Not your normal vomiting either, this was the actual acid in the stomach. After doing it twice, the doctor on duty told me that if I did it again, they were putting a tube down my nose. Nothing like a threat to scare you straight. I was also blowing up like a giant Macy's balloon so they cut off my iv fluids, all food and liquids. I didn't get food until Friday - and eating Jello for the first time was a little scary. Like many of you, I had HORRIBLE gas pains. The kind that stops you in your tracks painful. They used Ducolax, Gas X, Senna and Colace - to compensate for the pain and the painful BM. It's taken awhile but that's getting under control without supplements now. I try to walk as much as possible but get easily tired. I walked around the block yesterday but am the slowest thing on the street. Little old ladies with canes pass me by. My vertical incision is itchy but I'll live.

Cold feet/legs - Leg warmers are back! I sent my sister out to pick me up a pair and I slip them on and off pending on how I feel. I'm trying to wear loose clothing to help with the incision healing so leg warmers are great!

The pathology reports showed that the cancer did not spread to other areas so I don't have radiation and chemo in my immediate future.

Everyone on this site is wonderful and courageous.... Be well, rest and much love to everyone!

Today is my 3rd week of recovery, have a bit more energy at the same time get tired. Only tummy discomfort hoping I can get my hair cut today-looks pretty wild.
Has anyone noticed changes in their hair? Normally my hair is dry and coarse now it has changed it has gotten really long and a bit unruly and have to use a heavier mositurizering conditioner. Ay first I was going to grow it out now I will go back to my short crop.
Will have someone drive -Iam bit nervous about driving. Snowed here yesterday, the roads are clean. I finally tried on my pants etc last night. I lost so much weight they are way too big then I tried on a pantsuit I couldnt wear becuase it was too small it fit bit a bit baggy. I bought a wrap dress back in September couldnt wear it becuase my fibriods were so huge it made me look pregnant , put it on last night looks good. Iam glad my S/F encouraged me to try on my clothes because I was so nervous about harming my incision. It made me feel better.

So sorry to hear about your leg. Pamir had a great suggestion.

I start back to work Jan 1. I'm stressed out about it. I'm a respiratory therapist and I work 7pm to 1 am. My second week I have to do overtime. I'm on my feet most of the night and around all kinds of bugs. I'm out of sick time so I can not afford to get sick.

I start a new day shift job at the end of Jan. But it will be 12 hour shifts at one of our sister hospitals.

All of my hystersisters are in my prayers

Good luck driving and just watch ahead to avoid sudden stops. Been driving since 8 days post-op, hope it was to soon.

It's with a small ball, like soccer size. What I've read the exercises are helpful with adhesions and pain that are associated with them.

Just curious if anyone tried them or heard of them.
