Not a great day today for me. I've got pain on my left side and I'm trying not to panic, but I think my endo pain is back. It's very depressing to think that after all I've been through, I still have this pain.

I know a hyst isn't a cure for endo, so I always knew this was a possibility, but never imagined that after less than four weeks the pain would already be back. (Or perhaps it was never gone - just masked by my other pain.)

Sorry to be a downer today.

Speaking of exercise - is anyone doing any kind of exercise, yet? I'm still scared to do anything at all with my stomach! How about Keigel's?

ContessaD- my hair had grown like crazy, too, and I went Thursday and got mine cut, as well. Going to try to get into a new style.. lol I think my skin has had some shock also. It was looking pretty good before surgery, but am now going to take time to get it back to looking better. I had started a Clinique regime a few months before op -never would spend that money til then - but it did make it look nice. Back to doing that!
Have a good weekend, ladies!

Day 23 (Recovery)- I slept all night .To my surprise I woke up on my belly.
Since my TAH I would either sleep on my back or side , I noticed I was not as gassy this morning. No sharp pains. Yetserday I was exhausted didnt leave the house, took a nap before noon, watched TV. Anyone ever watch The Janice Dickenson Modeling Agency on Oxygen? I was watched it for 2 hours she is a hoot. I noticed my energy shifts from energetic to pooped. Still didnt drive yet. Heard from my boss last night -my job always call me once a week. I have really nice co workers and boss. It snowed here last night .

daisy71,

I'm also having pain in my left side. I still have my left ovary. It's not a constant pain just once in awhile. I have had endo removed twice. Once when I had my tubes tied and again following a d/c. But the pain I have is not like the pain I had with endo. I guess I will check with dr.

I walked around the block the other day. I need to do more. I get so zapped just doing little things around the house.

We had one or two flakes this morning. Mostly rain last night.

Saying Hi

Hi all,
It's so comforting reading the posts... today is an off day, but as I said to my husband at least I don't have a broken leg. My bowels are finally cooperating, but the trick seems to be avoiding all meat... if I eat anything with more than a bite or two of meat my stomach hurts... like getting hit with a fist. If I don't I do tons better.

I am interested in the menopause side of things. My dr. gave me hormones but honestly the first two weeks sucked so bad I never remembered to take them... now after 3 1/2 weeks of ovary free living I find I have NO symptoms at all... no flashes, no aches, no mood swings.... in fact my husband says I am completely emotionally STABLE... and that coming from a man. Is it really possible? Cause if this is menopause I sure don't want the hormones back.

Hope you are all feeling better as you move about... and to those decorations in the attic... if you live near a city, try a handyman or rent-a husband. I know here they are only 20-30 and hour and you can't imagine what they get done in that time.

Hi all,

Everything is going well here...well, except the weather. To keep things moving, I pace back and forth in my shoebox sized apartment. I try to to it in 10 minute increments... I can't even imagine doing anything other than walking... and I don't really call it walking yet - yes, pacing... I'm curious about the posts about adhesions and the ball exercise. How do you know if you have adhesions? Do we all have them? Ac ouple of days ago I felt like I was having 'lightning strikes" running up my lower ab area but that's gone away - maybe I tried to do too much? I'm rather clueless on this matter. I'd like to go to the gym and trudge along on the treadmill but I have no idea as to how slow it will go. lol

Steristrips - I still have mine... and they smell like moldy old gym socks. How long does it take for these things to fall off? Anyone else have this?

Crysalith - I had a TAH on the 26th and am not on hormones. I haven't had any problems although in the hospital I could swear I had a hot flash (I wanted to rip my clothes off) but I'm attributing that to the bad venilation and a roomie who liked things warm. I have noticed that my skin is a little irritable which is unusual but nothing like I had expected. My doctor was pretty adament in not prescribing HRT unless I had bad symptoms... and if I do have symptoms she would recommend a hormone specialist since everyone is different.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday evening,
Mary Ann

I had the steri strips on for about 8 days after my staples were removed. The staples were removed 7 days post op. My doctor had happened to call me that day to check in on how I was feeling and I asked her about them and she told me that I could take them off. There were about 20, so it took a couple of days, but I did pull them all off.

As far as my pain on my left side, it's not so bad today. I noticed that it changed as I changed position, so I'm not as convinced that it is the endo coming back as just the pains of healing. Of course, it's inconvenient for me, since I suffer from anxiety, that it's in the same area that I had a lot of the endo pain. I'm trying not to panic over it.

Yesterday I went shopping with my family for the first time post-op. We just picked up a couple things at Target. It was good to get out of the house. However, I guess I'm still slow, because I got honked at in the parking lot for not moving fast enough!

Day 24 - My morning gassiness has improved, woke up with a sharp pain on my right side. I attribute it to cold weather We have 40 milke per hour wind gusts since yesterday. Otherwise feeling well rested.
Thinking about taking a dance class for excerise ,did a bit of online shopping for myself on Amazon and Target.com). I bought everyone elses gifts Friday-now time to treat myself.
My new facial treatment routine I started post op is working. Has anyone notice chnages in their hair, face or skin post op? In my case I would get a stray oily pimple on the side of my nose and my chinrest of my face is ok, my body skin has become very dry-had to use Queen helene Massage cream as for my hair it becme very unruly-to remedy this I have a new crop haircut. One product I really love is Clinquie's turnaround facial and cream. I bought the small version online -it really work wonders.
