Burning inside and red area outside

It has been 10 weeks since my surgery. On Saturday I noticed a red area just above my pubic bone on the right hand side -- no clue what this is. I thought maybe it was a pimple, but it isn't hard, sore, or have "head" to it. Since then I've had a burning sensation in my right lower abdomen, a little bit above where this red spot it. The spot is about the size of a dime. the burning comes and goes, but seems more persistent this morning. I seem to be ok while standing, but while I'm sitting it gets worse.

The two may not even be related, but I thought I'd throw this out to you all and see if anyone has had this experience. I'll be seeing my GP tomorrow for many, many things, so I guess I can just add this to my ever-growing list!

Burning inside and red area outside

Hey there,

Have you been running a fever, even low grade?

I wouldn't let that go, especially if it's worse today......I'd call today and see if they can get you in sooner. (a lot of times if you say you're in pain or worried about an infection, they'll get you in sooner).

Could it be a hernia?

I'm sorry I don't have any experience with this to offer you, please let us know what your doctor says.

Take care and please be careful.

Burning inside and red area outside

I haven't checked to see if I have a fever or not. I've been feeling OK, just have that burning sensation the come and goes. I will check for a fever today after I get home from work. I never thought to check for a fever since I've been feeling fine.

I'm having nightmares of it being an abscess and it's going to open up on the outside! I've already been treated for one infection and when I saw my gyn a couple weeks ago, he said he didn't feel any abscess or anything suggesting an infection. No abnormal discharge (other than the yeast infection I've acquired -- can't wait for the dr tomorrow!) and no other pain, just the burning and I've had this before, just not as often.

I'll let you know what happens.

Burning inside and red area outside

Well, I saw my GP on Tuesday and asked him about the burning and red area. He didn't think it was an abscess since I had no fever -- he asked if I was and I told him I didn't think so, but hadn't been taking my temp either. He pushed around on my stomach, which seems to be quite a bit more than it used to be! -- and it hurt. He seemed surprised about that. He also thought the red area was an infected pimple, but I don't think it is and I really don't think he does either. It doesn't even hurt, other than the fact that it's been poked at so much lately. It's not hard or anything. He advised me that if it continued, I should go back to my gyn.

Yesterday after I got home from work (around 2:45pm) I had a 99.8 fever and this morning it is 99.1. I think I'll continue to monitor it until Monday and if it keeps up, I'll have to call. I really can't miss anymore work due to dr appts! I have a pretty understanding boss, but he has asked when it's going to end. I informed him that it won't. I'm a part of the autoimmune thread that is on here as well. I told him that it will take quite a bit of time before they find out what exactly is going on, but that I would do my best to get appts in the afternoon.

Anyone else have any ideas on what this red area and burning sensation is? ANy ideas will be greatly appreciated!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
