If you don't get any relief soon you might try the milk of mag., it seems to be working. My surgeon wants me to do it for good.

I'm not a sitter either and I definitely don't like daytime TV. I tried to get the owner of my firm to call in sick and spend the day with me today . .lol.

Oh wow about your brother . . that is wild. My husband and I both went to MSU or for us older folks SMSU. LOL We hoped my sister would find her way back here but she loves it up there.

If all goes well we are hoping to come up there for Christmas on December 8th. Hoping!!!

Wow .. Michelle too.

It is very nice to meet you.

Don't overdo it ... let everyone wait on you for once. I know it's hard to do but it will be worth it in the long run with your recovery.

Michelle - how are you doing? Hoping the oral antibiodics have worked for you and you were able to avoid the iv antibiodics today.

Are you feeling like a new woman yet?

I tried the milk of magnesia and it has helped. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi there! I hope you had a good Thanksgiving.

I'm doing ok. Last night was the best night I've had so I'm hoping tonight will even be better. Still feverish, pain and drainage but I'm thinking it is getting better.

No new women yet here but soon . . . .soon!

I'm glad the milk of mag is working. My dr. suggested I take it the rest of my life.

How are you feeling? Do you have any aches and pains, drainage, etc. I don't even know how I'm suppose to be feeling at this point.

I hope you are having a good holiday weekend.

Great, I'm glad you finally had a decent night! Sounds like you are finally on your way to 'new woman'.

I had a really nice Thanksgiving, thanks! How was yours? Hope you were able to enjoy your dinner plate. Is the appetite better yet?

The only bad thing about the milk of magnesia is the taste...bleah! My husband said he saw a different flavor - strawberry or something. I'm wishing he would have gotten it because this plain stuff is awful. But, it's a small price to pay for the relief it has brought.

I'm feeling really good. Today I had just one dose of over-the-counter ibuprofen. Tonight I'm feeling a little more sore, so just took one of my vicaden. That's the least amount of pain meds I've had so far in a day.
I'm still having the same amount of drainage. It's never been heavy, just enough to have to wear a pad. Mine is still pinkish in color too.
I notice that I get kinda sore when my bladder gets full. Just feels weird/sensitive inside.
The only other thing I can think of is fatigue. My doctor told me to expect that. I feel good like I want to go do something, but by the time I shower and get ready, I'm exhausted and ready to lay down again.

That about sums it up. Hope you are feeling this well very soon!!

Good Evening!

I am doing good also. I feel so much better. I have my ups and downs throughout the day but in general I am ALOT better.

Do you have hot flashes? I have my ovaries still so it really is weird to me. I can be freezing to death one minute and in the next minute you can literally see the sweat on my palms and forehead. Every time I take my temperature I'm at the very most 99ish and most of the time 95 or 96. Not really sure how to explain the really low temp.

I have managed to stay out of the ER for the IV antibiotics thus far. My husband has threatened several times that it is time to go but I convince him to give me a little time to see if it gets better.

I was reading earlier today what to expect in week 3 & 4. I am so looking forward to being back to my pre-surgery activities. I still have not left the house since surgery day except for dr. appts.

We had our first snow fall last night. I don't sleep much so I actually got to see it on the ground until around 8 this morning, then it melted away.

My dear hubby and daughter put up all my indoor Christmas stuff today. It is so beautiful. I love this time of year.

I have the wild cherry milk of mag. It's not great but I'm sure it is better than plain. I know they also have mint (that is what they gave me in the hospital). The milk of mag seemed to work the first week or so but seems to have slacked some. I'm staying with it.

I so want to get out and go somewhere too but never have felt good enough to go. My company Christmas party is next Saturday (Dec 1), I am going to try and go. I haven't worn make-up in two weeks or straightened my hair. Up until the last couple of days I wasn't able to even stand up straight, let alone do my hair/make-up.

I wish I could sleep. My friends have expressed how I should be napping but I just can't. I lay here all day and don't fall asleep. I generally only get 5-6 hours at night. I've been up at 4 am the last couple of days.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling good and congrats on the less pain pills. Be careful with over-doing it. My dr. says that when you start feeling better is when women tend to over-do it. She warned me that my body would make me pay for it if I did over-do it.

We've almost made it two weeks. YEAH!!!!!!

Have a restful evening!

Hi Michelle! I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better - finally!

I may have had a hot flash yesterday morning, but I'm not certain that is what was going on. I woke up at 5am feeling so hot and nauseated. I thought I was going to be sick but once I removed my covers and cooled off for a while the nausea subsided. So, I don't know if that was a hot flash or not? I kinda felt bad all day yesterday... reminded me of the first week. I didn't really have abdominal pain, but my head just felt heavy and I wanted to lay around most of the day.

I'm wondering after reading the Week 3-4 info if it was just one of the 'bad days'. Or maybe I over-did it this weekend, which is likely, because I felt pretty good all weekend. So, you are correct, I need to slow down. And, I think my body was trying to tell me that.

Anyway, back to your hot flashes. I have read on this site that sometimes the ovaries take a few weeks to 'wake up' after surgery. Maybe that is what is going on with you and hopefully it won't last too long.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time sleeping. I have had two sleepless nights since my surgery. One was the night before Thankgiving, I think I had anxiety about going. Then I did it again a couple nights later for no apparent reason at all. It is so frustrating and I wish I had a magical answer for you. It is something I struggle with from time to time so I don't really know if mine was related to the surgery?

Sounds like you have awesome support at home, which is a blessing. Enjoy your Christmas decorations and I hope you're feeling well enough to make it to your party this weekend!

Good Morning!

I am feeling so much better. I'm looking forward to having some energy. I shower just wipes me out.

I understand what you mean about the "bad" days. I have them too. My dr. warned me to be careful on the "good" days because women tend to over-do it.

Now that my fever broke I've not had problems with the hot flashes so that has been nice.

I've had a hard time sleeping for years. I'm thinking of contacting this dr. my mother-in-law told me about for relaxation techniques and biofeedback.

I'm glad to here you are doing well.

Have a good day.
