Mammogram Tomorrow - Nervous!!!

Hi guys! I haven't posted here in a long, long time! Everything is going well, I had endometrial cancer and have been cancer free since April 2005. I do my yearly exams and everything is going great. So I go to my regular family doctor on Friday and I told her I'd like to get a Mammogram, so she did a quick exam on her own and said one breast seems "fuller" than the other, her exact words, no lumps, no bumps, but she wants me to get a diagnostic mammogram, I'm going tomorrow. It's just crazy how it gets into your head. She told me not to worry about it and it's probably nothing and blah blah blah but all that's been going through my head is cancer... cancer... cancer... and of course the anxiety that comes along with that. I hate this. Just wanted to vent to some people who might understand since nobody else in my life really does.

Yep, you've come to the right place!!

Seems like no matter how far out from treatment we get, that darn cancerhead can still catch up to us.

I'm very glad that your doc is being proactive to check things out even if she doesn't seem overly concerned. Maybe you can call her office Wednesday to see if she has the results so you won't have it hanging over your head for the holiday.

Fingers crossed that you have a real snoozer of a mammo!!!

Mammogram Tomorrow - Nervous!!!

Kind of in a similar spot here... how I feel about it depends on the hour of the day and/or what I am doing. I have a nodule that did show up on my last mamm about a month ago. Radiologist says it's probably a lymph node and tells the clinic to have it checked in 6 months. I certainly do not want to wait that long and I have a GP appt Dec 4th anyway, so I will push the issue as best I can with the county. (Radiologist does not know me from Adam, or Eve, or that I was a cancer patient.) Meanwhile, I have to just trust, and for the moment believe, that the Radiologist knows better than I and if he thought it was cancer of something they would have called me in sooner. (In the last 5 years I was called back 2 times before for different findings, and relatively soon.)

So I am inclined to tell you the same thing. As it is said in these here parts, "don't waste a good panic." Try to think good thoughts and wait until you have actual word, good or bad, before you react. Hopefully the news will be all good! Best to you!
