8 days post op and feeling "foggy"

I had a tvh 8 days ago and as far as pain doing great! Praise God!!! I go on short walks 2 -3 times per day so I am moving around just fine. I have not been on narcotic pain meads since the day I left the hosp. on thursday. But I feel like I have just woke up from a nap. You know that heavy head foggy feeling. Sometimes you feel worse after you take a nap than before. Well I feel like that all the time. This is my biggest challange, I am having trouble focusing, things seem to be in a bit of slower motion.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if any one has experienced the same thing. I dont think it is related to the drugs that put me under becuase I had a previous surgery lasting about the same time and had no problems. But it wasn't major surgery, infact it was laproscopy. and after i felt fine. Please help!

I felt that way for 2 weeks after my surgery. I am feeling better, but not quite back to where I was before. It is no uncommon to feel like that.

Good luck,

I felt that way, too.
Memory probs too. Don't worry about it.
It takes awhile for all the meds to get out of your system
and your body has had a shock.
Hang in there;
The fog will clear!

I had my surgery on the 7th and I too was in a fog for about 1 1/2 weeks. About all I could handle was TV or flipping through a magazine. Reading a book was out of the question. Just remember - this is MAJOR surgery and it takes a while to recover.

I was so sick of it...I picked up a Sudoko book ( with 2 kids and a full time job, I never have time to work these...) and spent about 2 hours working puzzles! I felt so much better - like my brain woke up a bit.

It will get better each day!
