Feeling worse after feeling better

I just made the 10 week post op mark and was getting back to normal with out overdoing. I finally cleaned the house after not being able to before/after surgery and three days later I am back to the couch/bon bons and walking funny.

Any one else feel terrible after starting to feel normal?

Yeah, sometimes, though for me it's more often exhaustion. You may still have to break housecleaning into little pieces and not do it all in one day. Please take it easy. It does get better. You're still healing inside.

Lydia - Resume "normal" activities SLOWLY. It can take up to 6 months to be 100% healed and during that time it's still easy to over do it.

Speed Bumps

Recovery is like driving along a road with speed bumps. You think you are forging full steam ahead, then you have to really slow down. But, overall, when you look back to the starting point, you realize -- taking that perspective -- what a long stretch of road you have covered.

Sorry for the corny analogies -- but this is a way that has helped me think about the process!

Feeling worse after feeling better

I'm 10 weeks post op and wake up full of energy in the morning. I find I tire easily if I attempt to do too much and have to rest afterwards. On the days I take it easy I find I feek o.k. all day. I tend to forget I'm still recovering.
