Doing Good here too!

Thanks TamaraJo for starting this thread. I felt guilty when I posted that I was doing good 1 week out of the castle. I am sore, but not the major pains that have been going on thru all of the monthlys. I think that this website has been a god send for all of us women going through some of the same battles. Thanks for sharing ladies! I had a TAH / BSo on November 19th. So far, it's okay. I overdid it the first 2 days home from castle. Being Thanksgiving and all, family in visiting and I felt I had to vacuum and mop. That was definately a big no-no. I felt the reprocussions from that too! I have had 2 wonderful days now of just sore. I am so happy about that. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. Thanks again for starting this post.

Is ANYONE having a good hysterectomy recovery?!!!

I really had an amazing recovery! I was off pain pills by day 2 PO and went back to work on day 6 with restrictions. By my 2 weeks check up, I was released totally. Able to do anything I was doing before the surgery. Yes, including sex~)

I was definitly sore for several days, and coughing hurt like hell! But I can honestly say that considering the circumstances, things went perfectly!!

Oh, gosh, that first stretch is almost orgasmic. I remember my back being sore and then doing the knee to chest ball in bed on my back. Whooohooo.
It also really helped to sleep with a pillow under my knees.

TamaraJo, I'm proud of you too!!

I'm single and had no one to help me after the first couple of days. It was difficult for a while.

I can't imagine having 5 kids to take care of in addition to healing.

YOU GO GIRL!!! I'm proud of us both!!

Is ANYONE having a good hysterectomy recovery?!!!

hi ladies how is eveyone? I guess I am doing pretty good, been reading the posts about tummy stretches & sleeping on you tummy, I've been doing that for weeks. the first week I had to prop a pillow & sleep on my side, but after that I slept on my tummy. I can not sleep on my back, I get nausiated. I was only on my back even in the castle until the anestesia wore off.

I can't begin to imagine rolling on my tummy. I haven't done any tummy exercises. I wondered if I should be, but I wasn't given any exercises at the hospital or by my doc.

I can sleep on either side now, but I don't sleep on my belly ... to much booby squooshing.

Is ANYONE having a good hysterectomy recovery?!!!

I'm big up there too, doesn't bother me, plus I had lots of practice with manuevering the post surgery stuff, had three c-sections, so I knew how & what to do so i could sleep. the only times I can ever remember sleeping on my back are post surgery.

try this link - it tells you exercises you should do after hysterectomy. Particularly pelvic floor exercises so everything doesnt drop out later on! I also was given a leaflet at the hospital telling me to do these. i try to remember to do them but i have to say i havent done them regularly!

Is ANYONE having a good hysterectomy recovery?!!!

I'm at three weeks today and doing quite well myself. I STILL have this dang swelly belly but other than that I feel pretty good. At my two week check up I asked the doctor if I could go back to work (since I have a desk job) and he said if I felt up to it, I could. In the end, I opted to take one more week off...partly because I can't fit into any of my pantsuits and partly because I've found I LOVE sleeping in in the morning!

So I'm back to work on Monday...GAH!
