Silver Nitrate Discharge Okay?

Hi - hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

My question is that I had to have silver nitrate put on a stitch that wasn't healing on my vaginal cuff last Monday. I had called the other day as I had some slight spotting (dark brown) and then some flecks of silver coming out of me. She stated that was normal and would last a couple days. Well, it's been four days and the past couple days I've had some dark cream-coloured (not dark brown and not clear) discharge once in a while (not often at all) - but not sure how long is okay to have this...and I really don't want to call the doctor-on-call today (if it's perfectly normal) as their office is closed for the holidays. I've read some earlier posts and it seems some discharge is okay for a week or so - but someone agreeing with this - "happened to them" kinda thing would be nice to alleviate my worries.

Silver Nitrate Discharge Okay?

I'm afraid I have no personal experience with silver nitrate treatment and hope someone will be along shortly who can help.

If you're still concerned, in a day or two, please don't hesitate to give your doctor a call.

Hope it settles down very soon!

Silver Nitrate Discharge Okay?

Today 11/26/07 I had my 6th silver nitrate treatment. My spotting with each treatment lasted around 8-9 days. Happy to say things are improving slowly. Hope you feel better soon.

Silver Nitrate Discharge Okay?

I had one silver nitrate treatment at six weeks and spotted for two or three days. Doctor said it could go on for several weeks though. I just got checked today to make sure the silver nitrate worked and yes it did. Silver nitrate is an incredible healer.
