feeling really fat!

WOW! and I thought I was "alone" with my fat feelings. My DH doesn't understand and thinks I should only focus on healing... OK, I get that. BUT I am like some of you.. I have spent the last few years dropping 55 lbs and getting to a point where I feel better about myself. Now.. 5 weeks post-op from a TAH/BSO... I'm dealing with hormone patches and a belly that looks terribly huge by the end of the day. I DON'T WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT!

I don't know.. but, from some of the posts I've read on here swelly belly can possibly go on for weeks and even months. Not sure what I'm going to do about clothing when I return to work next week. I sure don't want to buy a larger wardrobe!

feeling really fat

I am 7 weeks out and still feel that awful bloating feeling. So I got the ok to go to the gym and do a bit of walking. Boy was that not good. I had to come home and wear p.j.s the rest of the day since that was all that would fit. I was a big gym rat before this and I am so frustrated watching all my hard work going down the drain. I think that I could handle the swelling if it didn't feel like my guts are going to fall out! But I did go and get a girdle of sorts to "hold" it all in and it has helped a bunch. I just took out the boning from the front so it doesn't bother the incision. This to shall pass right???
Take care!

That's what I keep telling myself... "this too shall pass". Anyone try those new Spanx products Oprah and everyone else is talking about??

feeling really fat

I am new and I am so glad that I found this site. I wondered who I could talk to that would understand exactly how I feel. I had TVH (kept my ovaries) on 11/15/07. Today I went out shopping and now ended the night in pain and feeling very bloated. I am still suffering from lots of lower pain (on my right ovary), but too feel very pregnant just from how bloated I stay.

Now 6 weeks out and have gone back to work part-time. I broke down and bought a couple of pairs of comfortable pants to wear over the swelly belly. Ended up working from home Thursday as my body said please don't go out today. I guess thats normal considering going out and working three days was more than I have done in 6 weeks. Seems like its a little better each day but I know it going to take more time. I can't believe how this just knocks the crap out of you. I have to say though not worrying about getting those bad periods and pain was worse. Hang in there girls!

Well... I'm 6 weeks post-op (TAH/BSO, lost ovaries.. HRT). I have been trying to build back up to the "norm" but still not there. Went shopping yesterday trying to finish up the Christmas list. Thank goodness my DH went with me because I slept all the way home. I go back to work full-time on Monday! Me and my stretchy dress pants! Trouble is the standard in my office is jeans! Oh, well... just focusing on hanging in there right now. Good luck to everyone!
