Diamondsister,

I'm from Lancashire England. The Vaginal Cuff is often referred to over here as the Vaginal Vault. It is the area at the top of the vagina where the cervix and uterus were attached. The deep sharp pain you refer to, does it only last a few minutes or does it go on for a few days afterwards? If he didn't do an internal, you will not know if that reproduces the same pain.

I also had complications with original surgery - vertical incision- cyst, TAH/BSO. I was kept in bed for 4 days due to heavy bleeding (large clots) and almost needed a blood transfusion and back to theatre. I also had Endometroisis and Adenomyosis. The cyst was endometrial but wasn't recognised as such at surgery. I don't think he looked round for other endo because of it. I have had pain since that surgery in 2005.

It wouldn't do any harm to make an appointment with your doc as it takes a long time to get an appointment through in this country.

Take Care

Thanks Busylizzie for the explanation. The pain only lasts a few seconds. I wonder if it is pressing on some scar tissue? Consultant said mine was a challenging operation, which they had to do in two parts as tons of adhesions - mainly caused by the burst appendix two years ago.
But I think I will make an appointment with my lady doc, just to be on the safe side. Not sure what they can do though, if it is just an adhesion.

Thanks for the reply and take care.

I am really sorry that you're going through this. Did you bleed for a long time after surgery? I'm 5 wks into post op recovery and I still have the granulation tissue, can't stop bleeding. I certainly hope all goes well for you.

Hi everyone - not sure if this thread is still active.
I went to see Doc today - had an internal. Doc said healing fine, but the sharp pain is due to scar tissue which over time should soften! Doc didn't say how long it would take - but let hope not long lol

what symptoms did you have besides pain?? I am having slight pink every time after sex and today it was red. I had mine last day of July. I have ZERO other problems and had a beyond smooth recovery. Could this bleeding be a cuff problem. I don't even know what to say when i call the doctor.

Hi I only have the sharp pain, no other symptoms really apart from a numb feeling between bellybutton and hair line, which I know is all the nerve endings healing.
I would definately visit doc just to be sure, it sounds like something isn't healed properly
Wishing you all the best
