Sharp pain in left side
I'm 6 1/2 weeks post op, I had my right ovary and tube, womb, cervix , and some of my left tube removed. I am having pain in my left side and my lower back... Is this normal? I see my Dr in a few days.. I was wondering if my remaining ovary was trying to over compensate ,If it's comming back to life??? Anyone else have anything like this?? Over all my recovery has been good, a few things here and there but nothing to worry about. Thanks to all who respond. This site rocks!!!!!

Sharp pain in left side
HI - I had a TAH just over 7 weeks ago but i kept my ovaries - the majority of my pain has been on one side - the left in fact - and still is - I can't help on why or if your symptoms are as a result of the left ovary still being there, but I'm a one-sider as well! My wound is a bit puckered on that side also.
My doctor didn't put any importance on this - just said to keep taking it easy but if you're worried go to your own doc and see what they say!

Sharp pain in left side
Hi Ladies,
I am about 3 weeks post op. My recovery has been slow. Before surgery, I had groin pain when I was walking or moving to stand up or move around. No matter the distance walking, the pain was off the chart. I constantly asked my previous gyn's for help, but they wanted to play the "wait and see" game, and that didn't work for me at all. Then my groin pain intensified and went around my flank. It was horrible. I went back (repeat office visits meant more $$$$ for my previous gyn's). That is when I began searching for another gyn, and found this site (it is a God send).
After my surgery, the gyn told me that I had two huge fibroids growing outside my uterus that were 5 pounds and the other was over 3 pounds. One was growing into my appendix, and intestines, and the other was growing downward on my other leg. Then I had 2 more huge fibroids in dead center of my uterus. She had to cut them out before she could remove my uterus, tubes, and overaries. They were just that big that they disfigured my uterus. I am waiting now to see how much they weighed.
What I have learned is this...if you ever have a doubt about your healthcare and body - seek out additional care from another source. Don't be timid. I suffered in silence wayyyy to long. If you trust your dr, go back until you get answers to your questions. Don't be shy. If he/she plays games, you know to move on. Don't take your health for granite. It is your body. No one elses. Be safe.
Blessings all around.
