light bleeding 6 months post op

hello ladies, I was just wondering if anyone has had vaginal bleeding after 6months post-op? I had a partial hysterectomy on may 22nd. I'm really worried, should I consult my doctor?

your dr. should really know about any new bleeding. i'd call and let him know. did you keep your cervix or ovaries? i spot during ovulation. you can also spot monthly with mini periods if you kept your cervix and ovaries.

It was good you called your dr. It does sound as if you might be experiencing a mini period. It's my understanding that most women who have those start with them soon after surgery though.
There are other things, such as dryness that can cause light bleeding. Your dr will be able to tell you. Let us know what you find out.

I had bleeding about 5 months out from my surgery (TAH, kept ovaries only). When I called my doctor, the nurse insisted I get to the office as soon as possible. I went in and the doctor found a polyp had grown on my inner incision. He cut it off during my office visit (OUCH!) and I bled about a week afterwards. I am waiting for results. He said this happens and is usually nothing to worry about. He did not seem concerned and said I had done nothing to cause it. There is a minor possibility that it could be endometriosis that was missed during the surgery. He didn't think it would turn out to be that, though. I hope you feel better soon. Keep calling your doctor until you get in.
