Severe Bladder Spasms still - 3wks post op - any advice for a new sister out there?

Hello Sisters, I am 3 weeks post-op, I came home with catheter because of severe bladder spams. My doctor had me keep it in for a week. My bladder was working ok, some pain though. But then I came down last week with a bad infection in my bowels, I had to stay 6 more days in the hospital (bummer). They had to put another catheter in because of the pain again. After 4 days with the catheter it was removed, the pain all came back! He tried to keep the catheter out, but that was the most pain I've ever had. The bladder spasms came back more severe than before whenever I would try to urinate. I have to have the catheter in for another 10 days (extreme bummer). Next week I will be doing exercises to re-train my bladder. Has anybody had this experience? Can someone shed some light on this for me?

Signed, Tired...

Wow Cindy, what an ordeal!! I have had mild bladder spasms compared to what you're going through. My doctor said it was normal for those of us who have had repair work or adhesion removal due to endometriosis. She told me it could be a few weeks before my bladder heals entirely. Sounds like yours is much, much, more though and you should badger your doctor and/or get a referral to a urologist who could review your case. I'll say a quick prayer that you heal quickly and you get the answers you need!
