2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

Today I am 2 weeks post op, and I feel absolutley fine

My only problem is that a couple of days ago I started bleeding from my vagina .... I have had a TAH, cervix and tubes removed but kept ovaries, Is this normal to bleed almost 2 weeks after the op?

My doctor has taken a swab but I wont get the results probably until Monday (?) the bleeding itself is like browny/watery yet pinky ..... gosh I hope I just made sense there!!.

Has anyone else had this happen? (the bleeding) should I be extra worried? ... as I said I feel 100% no fever no chills no feeling yukky .....

Thanks everyone

xx

2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

Hi, I am about 6 and a half weeks post-op TAH/BSO. I had the kind of bleeding that you describe for exactly 5 weeks. My doctor had told me to expect this and so I wasn't surprised . It's good that you have checked with your doctor but my guess is that everything is just fine.

2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

I had my surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago, and I started bleeding a WEEK after my surgery. I even had bright red bleeding a couple of times (which I called about). The dr said as long as I wasn't soaking through [pads with bright red blood, having extreme pain, or running a fever, then it was okay. I know it feels troubling though, because after a hysterectomy you would think that the bleeding would be GONE! I had my post op visit on Tuesday, and the dr said that there was a small area on my vaginal cuff that was slightly bleeding and that was where the blood was coming from. He put some silver nitrate on it, and I'm just having some VERY LIGHT brown, watery discharge. He said if I have any more red bleeding or pain to call him. At the 2-3 week mark, a lot of women have bleeding due to the stitches dissolving. I hope this helps and that your bleeding stops soon! I know it's aggravating!

2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

Thank you both so much I feel alot more relieved knowing that others have had this sort of bleed aswell, I was wondering if it could be somethng to do with the stitches dissolving!

I havent heard from my GP's nurse today so Im taking it that the swab results wont be back until Monday ..... so fingers crossed there is no infection there as well!

But again Thank you so much for the replies I feel alot better now

2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

I had that bleeding for six weeks after post op, not heavy, but there. A big pad, then panty liners for six weeks. Alot of brown and orange and yellow. If you bleed bright red or more than a period, they say you should call your doctor. You may also see different colors, brown, and yellow and be prepared to see dissolving stitches which might be orange or look like little worms. Or pieces of string. There is a ton of information on the site about this. It sounds as if you are doing great, but always consult your Dr if youare concerned as everyone is different.

2 Weeks Post-Op and bleeding

Have just rung my GP's nurse to get my swab results ... they are back and all clear?, so the bleeding I have isnt from an infection thankfully **phew**

The nurse was saying it could be through the stitches dissolving, and to just keep an eye on it, my next appointment with my Gynae isnt until January 7th (6 week check) so if anything happens inbetween time I have to see my own GP or go straight to the hospital if it is a right emergency

So anyways heres hoping all it is, is the stitches dissolving! .... your right too there is a heap of info on this site Im sooooo glad to have found it!, hystersisters has been so useful these past few weeks
