Very LAST Period

Ok, now I remember why I'm having a hysterectomy. It's three days before my period is due, or at least when I can best guess it is due--I never can tell with this crazy schedule my body is on! This should be my last period before the surgery on Dec 10 and today I am ready. I already have the major cramping that accompanies my periods because of the endo. The headache caused by the crazy amount of hormones has started and I know will only get worse. I'm hoping to feel ok tomorrow so I can still go to work...I don't think my supervisor could handle me calling in sick again. I am definitly READY! No "if's", "and's" or "Hold the phone maybe this surgery isn't really the right thing for me to do right now!" Today I am confident and my brain is shouting--GIVE ME A HYSTERECTOMY!

Smiles!

Very LAST Period

I completely know what you mean. My TAH is Dec 5 and my period is due in 1-2 days. For that last couple of weeks I've been saying maybe I've exaggerated my symptoms and could live with this - yeah right. Last night when I got home from work I was on the couch and never moved the whole night. The other symptoms are as bad as I think and I know I'm doing the right thing.

I know exactly what you mean. The week before my surgery I felt exactly the same, and it was quite helpful in making me feel absolutely certain I was doing the right thing!

Very LAST Period

Oh can I relate! My original surgery date was today 11/29/07 and they had to reschedule til 12/13/07. Low and behold I started today...UGH! But rather then being depressed i decided to celebrate that it is my last period...YIPPEE!
I have been doing lots of reading on this sight and trying to prepare myself and not to become discouraged which isn't always easy.
Today I decided to take advantage of the next 2 weeks and to stop feeling sorry for myself once and for all and to really get prepared and to go into this adventure with the proper stae of mind.
I am considering this a brand new adventure and a time for me to start over ..it's going to be a brand new day and a brand new me.

Very LAST Period

I've been saying the same thing.. Tuesday night - the night before my pre-op - my last period started. It's been heavy and painful and bright, bright red with clots. I still had the pain while on my Loestrin, but at least the flow was nothing like this!

Bring on the Hyst!
