Ready or not here I come

Just a quick note to Thank all of you ladies for your support!!
Tomorrow I leave at 530 am with surgery at 730. I'm am really looking forward to having this behind me. I spoke with my dr. yesterday, she said again, no bowel prep, no shave, and relax!! I told her to get a good nights sleep and see you Mon!!

I have to tell you ladies what the anesthesiologist said to me at my pre-op. I was armed with my list of questions and concerns about pain management. About 2 minutes into my conversation, he says," I know I'm a man, but the pain will be no worse than menstrual cramps!! "I about died!! WHAT????????????????
Anyways, after that comment, I hardly respected his opinion about anything!! Of course I told my Dr. what the anesth. said, and she was flabbergasted!!

Well, again, thanks for all the info. and all of your kind words. Does a hysterectomy bring out the best in people, or are you all just about the kindest people I've ever encountered??

transplant, well you will soon be on your way. I hope and pray that everything goes well for you. Please remember that we will be there with you in our thoughts and prayers.

I cant believe what your anaethetist said to you. Did you kick him?

I think the girls here are the kindest people ever, hysterectomy or not. It is just that we all know what the other is going through in some way and we want to support each other. We all have made a special bond.

Please come back and let us know how you are doing, of course that is after you feel better. Much love to you x x

Best Wishes Transplant!!!!

You have a great positive attitude and that will go along way in your surgery and recovery!!

That anesthesiologist sounds like a doctor my sister once had who told her the same thing after doing a colposcopy on her...can't remember the whole story but I do remember she was really mad at him.

As Robyn said we do have a speical bond here and we all worry about each other! Do let us know how you are doing.

Remember lots and your fluids.

Take care, keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

What a great positive attitude you have....good for you!! Now just keep remembering that the sooner you get in the hospital, the sooner you can begin your recovery!! The closeness that we all have here comes naturally! It is a special bond and most people don't even understand it until they have experienced it for themselves!!
I will keep you in my prayers and please know that we are all here for you!!

Hi, Transplant!

Well, even though your anesthesiologist has no clue what a menstrual cramp feels like or what the discomfort after a hysterectomy feels like, I would assume that he understands appropriate pain control measures and that you will be taken care of. What a ridiculous thing to say! At least my doctor (also a man) has the common sense to say "most of my patients say it's no worse than...". You have to wonder.

Anyway, good luck tomorrow! I'm so happy you have the early surgery--it stinks when you have to wait until evening. I hope all goes well and we'll look forward to hearing from you again when you're ready!

{{Transplant}}

I'm sure you're already at the castle but wanted to let you know you'll be in my prayers today. We will look forward to hearing from you as soon as you're feeling up to it.

As far as the anesthesiologist is concerned, here's what I think about that - Geesh, amazing how way off base some of these "guys" can be!

Big {{hugs}} for you,

Vicki
