Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

This might be a dumb question, so forgive me.I am four weeks post op today. Last night, I went out to shopping, driving for the first time I might add. Walked around and shopped for over three hours and pushed a chart. I ended up limping out of the store in pain. Woke up this morning and I am in pain! I also have this feeling when I urinate (tmi) like I need to push. I feel something inside down there that feels like I need to pull it out or push it out. It feels like a foreign object??? Is it the normal healing feeling or is it the vaginal cuff I feel?? I had that sensation earlier in my healing process but it kind of went away, it's back now..... should I be concerned? Did maybe I cause irritation to my vaginal cuff? I know this is a lot of questions but I really am concerned about it but to nervous to call doctor's office if this is something some of you feel and is normal. Sorry for the personal info, but please reply if you have any thoughts on this.

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

You did an awful lot for 4 wks post-op! Try to take it very easy for the next couple of days and drink plenty of water.
I have overdone and felt what it sounds like you are feeling--almost like there is something hanging down from the top of my vagina.
I think it might have been swelling from my cuff being irritated
It went away with rest, though.
You might want to call in, just to check, though.

Best wishes and BE CAREFUL!

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

I too had that "falling out feeling'' any time I did alot really for me it lasted about 6 weeks on and off. It never hurts to call your dr and check but personally I think it is a sign get off your feet and rest. Good luck.

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

NEVER be too embarrassed or nervous to call your doctor's office with questions or to make an appointment to get something that doesn't seem/feel right looked into!

IMO you should be checked out. You only have one chance to heal properly and want to make sure you do it right. Listen to your body and slow down.

I hope everything is ok and it is a case of just overdoing it.

Feeling my vaginal cuff too (I think)...

Hello Ladies,

I too have the sensation of having something inside me all the time. I think it is my vag. cuff. Mine however feels like a 4x4, and I cannot get comfortable in any position (sitting, standing, etc.). I am 25 days post op. When does this sensation go away? It is very draining.

Blessings all around.

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

Ok. I've been trying to post, seems to be working now. I am 16 days post op from TAH with BSO. I wasn't feeling well last week so my dr actually looked up there for me and said everything was healing well and the vaginal cuff looked great. I have had that feeling of fullness or swelling in there also. I was relieved to know that everything was OK because I felt as if my bladder had dropped down in there. He looked at 11 days and it went away for a few days but is back today. I did a bit more around the house today too so it is probably that we tend to do too much to soon and it gets swollen or irritated and we feel that sensation. I also started with the brown discharge yesterday due to the vaginal cuff stitches dissolving.

Take care

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

I have pain inside there and a feeling like something is "tugging other parts downward" when I overdo it or strain to go to the bathroom/pass gas.

I was checked out yesterday because I've been complaining of burning inside (was a yeast infection) and she looked inside me and said that it looked fine altho red and irritated but that I do have some granulation.

So, now I will be off to read all the posts on granulation issues.

I did make a thread a little while back about granulation and sex - as I won't be having sex in quite a while as we are in our "pre-divorce era" (yes, it's been a long time, might as well make it an era or epoch at this stage) - and I was really worried about finding out months and months or even years later that sex was indeed painful. There isn't going to be any "let me know if it hurts to have sex when I give you the all clear" here.

Not that I'm complaining mind you (I could live the rest of my life without sex I'm sure because of things that transpired in our marriage) - but that's a whole different thread...

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

Thank you everyone for your responses. If this does not go away I am going to have it checked. It is so uncomfortable I can't sit, cross my legs or lean back without feeling something is inside me that needs to come out! Almost like a little ball is inside me and has fallen down and is stuck......I know that was probably a weird way to discribe it. But, I am definatly very concious of it.

Roseptl---I wonder too when it will go away.

NPwriter--- I am so sorry you have to be going through a divorce at this time. It must be stressful for you especially when you are trying to heal.

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

I don't think you should wait to see if this goes away on its own, but think that you should contact your doctor. I realize that it's a weekend, but the answering service should be able to contact him/her. I can't tell you how many times I've seen posts here that said "I wish I had called the doctor sooner". Call. If it's nothing then you don't have to worry, but if there's something that needs attention you'll be glad you didn't wait.

Am I feeling my vaginal cuff?

whenever i've had that feeling like there's pressure, its when i've done too much. so, then i would go lie down, and do some pelvic floor exersises, and sort of lift my bottom off the bed a little, to let "gravity" help put things back in place. seemed to help. i was reeeeally worried i was having a prolapse.............but, so far so good, and i'm ten weeks out now. also, once i was able to start having sex again, i figured that those exersises would be good as well ! ! and let dh do his job, pushing things back up ! ! he was happy to oblige ! ! lol...............gee.
