anyone else ready to eat the house into? or.......is it just me??

I am going insane , I think. I am 3 wks post op, and can not get full. I know that I am bored out of my mind, and that is the majority of the problem -- but I really want to fit behind my desk when I go back to work!
I have been reading the other forums, and see that the majority can not eat at all, and feel very nauseated. I too did the same thing, for the first 2-3 days.. then BOOM.. I was eating everything in site!!!
I can not do much activity due to the fact I am still bleeding quit a bit. I went back to my Dr on Tues, and had an ultrasound- thank goodness all my stitches are intact, but am bleeding moreso on my left side, which is where I hurt the most.
Because of my lack of activity, I KNOW that I must get a grip with my eating.
I wanted to know if anyone else was having this problem??
I do not want to gain a ton of weight, as I have been trying to fight that battle my entire life.

I was the same and I did eat the house. Craved lots of things I'd never really been bothered about before, like cheese! Unfortunately with the lack of exercise too, I put on quite a bit. I'm starting to lose it now though and I'm going to the gym regularly.

Try and resist it - find some things to do to take your mind off eating. I know it's easier said than done, but you'll be happier in the long run. If you need to snack, then snack on things that won't matter - like carrot sticks or celery. If you form a good eating plan now, once you can start exercising, then you'll start to lose weight.

Good luck!

I am in the same boat as you though thankfully haven't gained much yet and am still same as before surgery ( big).
I am doing really well and feeling great so hope to start getting out walking.
Everytime I try the weather gets crappy. Winds so high I am afraid a tree will fall on me. Yes I have limbs falling on my property.

One good thing is the chocolate is gone now as is the candy I got in a gift package.

We could start a weight loss thread maybe for us fresh out of surgery girls.

LOL...I thought it was just me! Thankfully, DH has been buying Low Fat frozen yogurt (low cal, too). It's pretty good.

Our friends and neighbors are still providing meals for us three times a week -- DH had surgery ten days after mine. I must say...we know some good cooks! The meals should end next week though. So then it will be time to get a grip on things. Although....I am wearing my jeans again! But not much longer at this rate!

It's a good thing we're not neighbors; we'd be partners in crime. Good luck -- now go eat a carrot or celery stick

I hear all of you!! I had to start a healthy diet plan for myself and find other things to keep me preoccupied so that I don't go in the kitchen and raid the fridge!! I am so ready to get out of this house!! Eating excessively is really a bad hobby of mine!!
Good luck to all of you!

I'm going between not wanting to eat at all, and snacking the day away. I hope it passes -_- I want to lose weight, not gain another twenty.

anyone else ready to eat the house into? or.......is it just me??

I have fought the fight my life time! Never at my goal weight but once in my life...I have been pretty fit and healthy most of my life, no high blood pressure, no diabetes, this can all change at a moment notice at my age now (51). I better take heed, but still, I don't have enough will power to!!! I have and read and KNOW and all there is to know about healthy eating, exercise, getting quality sleep, taking certain vitamins for weight loss, drinking lots of water blah blah blah, bottom line, the ONLY THING that has ever worked for me was exercise, but that is like going to the dentist to get a filling with out getting numb first! UGH! I am not setting a good example for my teenager, I work from home so between working 8-10 days, and mom stuff, I'm a lump on a log, doing house work and laundry and cooking and grocery shopping and bill paying and my computer home job, don't cut the mustard at all, my body is used to the amount of movement though small... so if anyone has a fresh new idea to get me off my computer chair and stop working or stop watching TV long enough to save myself, let me know! I have a year old 2500.00 Nordic track elliptical treadmill, and why don't I use it? its 6 steps from my home office computer? I DONT KNOW, I am so good at self sabotage, WHY? WHY? WHY??? I take care of my family like there is no tomorrow, every one gets all they need and want from me! I read years ago, moms need to fill up their preverbal cup and drink before they will have enough strength to fill up others around them.. I wish I could live by that! Anyone else self saboteurs?

I think it is second nature as being a parent to put ourselves last on the list.
I do the same exact thing. I hated more than anything to even have this surgery, because I knew I would not be able to take care of my family (husband & daughter) every single day the way that I always have done. Not to say that my husband doesn't spoil me rotten, and wasn't anxious to help. I just by second nature put him and my daughter above myself.
I am overweight (also have PCOS -which doesn't help at all) and have been my entire life ( I am 32) . Thankgoodness, I do not have diabetes, heart disease, etc -- but know with the PCOS/Insulin Resistance, that it is knocking on my door.
I have always excercised, it has become my "prozac" in life. Because of the endometrosis in which I had, and the severe pain I had been in the last 5-6 months everyday all day-- I had no choice but to have the hysterectomy, which has really put me off schedule with my excercise.
I have found (when I was able to workout like a mad woman) the best time was first thing in the morning, just as you get up, go to the bathroom, brush your teeth, boom..hit the treadmill. I did it without really thinking about it. Before you know it--- it is second nature. The energy and feeling you have is unreal. I can handle family/job/dance team instructor, - and whatever other hat in which I wear, so much better.
I will be so glad when I get past this recovery stage to get back on track.
I have also decided to join WW. I feel that it is the best balanced diet/life style change which anyone can have.

Ok.. sorry enough of my rambling....=(

I'm eating too much too, just hanging around the house, afraid to do too much, it's been 3 weeks now. I'm 60, hoping once I can start doing more I won't sit around thinking about what I can eat!
