Tired five months after total hysterectomy!?

Hi. I had my total hysterectomy June 26. I felt a lot better by the beginning of August, but am still so tired. I teach first grade, and am 59, so I'm not sure if it is the hysterectomy, my age, my job....???? I also had a massive case of hives during Sept. which I have read can be due to hormonal changes. Just wanted to know if anyone is tired like me. I wonder if it is hormonal too. Thanks.

Tired five months after total hysterectomy!?

I was and am super duper tired (very easily) and my doctor put me on iron because my counts were low. Are you taking a good multi vitamin? You may be lacking essentials in your diet.

I too hope that you feel better soon. Make sure you're taking time for you and to get the rest you need!

Tired five months after total hysterectomy!?

I can say that it has been almost a year for me and I do get tired more so now than before the TAH I tho was droping weight and now have gained 40 yes 40 lbs from the first of the year. This is because I am lazy/tired get home from work and do stuff around here but, do not go to the gym and eat terrible. I think I eat because of being tired. I know sounds crazy. I just can't think about going to the gym after work being so tired. Well, I am on HRT the patch I have taken myself down to one patch a week was to be twice a week. Maybe I will see if I go back to the twice a week change to see if that has anything to do with it. I got depressed to so, that did not help due to my problems with the surgery and, not having kids hit home. Well, did a blood draw yesterday because Dr. says that my spots on my arms look like a clotting problem so, maybe that is the problem. I don't know. But, I do know that I need to drop the pounds I gained. I wish you luck in you situation. By the way how is your sleeping? I am thinking if your not sleeping at night good that might be the reason or maybe low iron level. Ok to long of a reply. Bye

Tired five months after total hysterectomy!?

Thanks for the replies. I am sleeping okay because of sleeping meds...otherwise, I didn't sleep much at all. I am going for a physical in Jan......maybe the dr. will find something then. I am also on zyrtec...that might be making me tired too. No...not on hrt.

Tired five months after total hysterectomy!?

Tiredness can be from so many different things so I am glad you have an appointment coming up in January. Hopefully your doctor will have some answers for you!

Sleeping medications can cause tiredness for some people so you may need to try a different one. Generally Zyrtec should not make you tired but the reason you take Zyrtec could!

You might want to ask about taking a multi-vitamin and B-complex if you don't already.

Many best wishes to you!
