I wish I had not bought the wrong size of Hanes hysterectomy underwear. Those mediums were a bite. Did not fit.
I wish I had not spilled something on the ones that do fit, because now they have stains on them. I suspect red wine on the laundry basket over the Thanksgivng weekend. I thought I was over that!

I wish I hadn't:

>Spent too much time doing on my computer shopping for myself. Never planned on spending $400 for a black handbag

>Ate too much sugar. My DH would go grocery shopping and come home with cake and ice cream every week

-felt pressured about "helping out" at work so quickly.
-tried to wear jeans b4 my abdomen was ready for that.
-tried to eat a large meal. I was enjoying it so much, but ever since the surgery- a large meal is difficult. I eat just as much, but in smaller meals during the day.

OMG this has been fun!

I thought of another thing I did. At 3 weeks, I was mentally bored but had little energy so I decided what I needed was catalogs. So I ordered every free catalog online I could find (I know I know).

About the time I went back to work, they started showing up........and they are still coming 15 months later. Anyone interested in custom order kilts? Handmade soy soaps? Everything frog?

Definately a what was I thinking moment.

I wish I hadn't ignored the suggestion to take stool softeners. I was very snooty about my wonderful high fiber diet and non-constipated status in normal life. Wow, was I knocked down a couple pegs. My first BM after getting home took 2 and a half hours! And that was after I finally broke down and used a glycerin suppository. Get some (any drug store) to have post-op in case the stool softeners (TAKE THEM) don't work as well as you need them to.

Also, I wish I hadn't torn down ceiling drywall about month 4 post-op. Long story, but there was a leak and the ceiling could have caved in on someone. Hubby was under a deadline at work. I just should have insisted that he stay home and do it. My tummy was swollen up by 2 inches for about 3 days!

I wish I hadn't been ignorant of the fact that, being the primary wage-earner in the family, I need to have disability insurance coverage. That would put me in a much better position right now.

I wish I hadn't put so much effort into cleaning up pre-op, it ended up being messy by the time I came home, and I could've put up the Christmas tree instead (pre-op) so that I'd feel a bit cheerier.

I wish I hadn't had that Starbucks Peppermint White Chocolate Mocha... it's only fueling my insomnia all the more.

I wish I hadn't bought more pairs of pajamas pre-op... half the time, I'm hot-flashing and either don't wear them or I strip them off during the night.

My MIL offered to drive the 200 miles to help out. I wish I hadn't turned her down. DD's listen better to grandma, especially when they know I can't catch them.
I wish I hadn't promised DH gwumpkies for dinner, since I'm not sleeping and they take all day to make.
I wish I hadn't stopped DH from buying me more "fat clothes". Too tiring to shop and try them on now. I only have enough for a few days before laundry needs to be done.
