Yeast infections more common after surgery?

I have found that since my surgery I seem to shower then put on my comfy fat cloths and then end up in bed that night in pj pants
Wondering if yeast infections are more comon after surgery as people are wearng clothes to bed when they used to go either nakid or in a nighty so vagina was getting more air.
I personally have to wear cotton all the time as I get yeast from nylon panties Just a thought

Yeast infections more common after surgery?

The reason some women get a yeast infection after a hysterectomy is because some are given antibiotics. Antibiotics kill all bacteria in the body. The vagina contains bacteria (good and bad bacteria--the reason you shouldn't douche). Without the bacteria to kill the yeast fungus, a yeast infection can develop in the vagina

I think LAmiss is probably right that the main reason is due to the antibiotics, but what you mention about the extra clothing could also contribute. I hadn't thought of that before, but most of do wear more at least right at first.

Yeast infections more common after surgery?

Yes, I developed a bothersome but mild yeast infection at around week 5. My doc just called in some diflucan for me today. It's because of the disruption of the vaginal area and antibiotics. Of course, I've been working out steadily since about week 2/3 with doc's blessing and the extra wetness hasn't helped. It's always something huh?

Anyway, a small irritation (I suppose) considering everything else. At least I have no more bleeding and cramping to contend with! YEAH!
