From 271lbs to 246 in 2wks?WHAT THE...

I have lost 49 pounds since May and I was afraid I would gain weight after my TAH, 3 of my doctors told me the surgery will not affect my weight at all. My PCP reminded me its what goes into your body that makes you gain or lose weight. Now I do agree with the estrogen having an effect on us but I also think that we still need to watch what we eat and exercise as much as we can. Now if I can only stick to that exercise program, right now food is not an issue most of the time I do not feel like eating which is a big thing for me because I love to eat.

Good luck on your weight loss or maintenance adventures!

The same thing happened to me as far a weight loss. I lost 35 lbs. by my 6th week check-up and later another 6 lbs so a total of 41 ponds by October. It has stayed off. So I guess it happens I was all preared to start gaining according to what other people have said and I was amazed and very thrilled.

I finally got into some jeans that I haven't worn in 6 months. It wasn't pretty, but I got them on--YEAH!

I'm 7 weeks post-op and have been really pouring it on in the gym just to get to this point. 45 minutes of cardio and another 30 minutes of weights nearly every day. It seems I have to work so much harder then I did just a few years ago.

Getting old sure isn't for the faint of heart!

TamaraJo, that is fantastic, I'm so happy for you! I'm sorry you fell though, I hate to hear of anyone falling during their recovery. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch. How wonderful for you to have lost so much weight, I am soooooo envious of you girl! I had planned to lose a bunch during my recovery, but I've been stuck at home during this ice storm! I don't have any power, so needless to say, my treadmill doesn't work. It's so disheartening. That's 10 days of no exercise! I so wish I had your success!
