Is it possible to get too much estrogen?

My dr. put me one the vivelle dot (.1) right after surgery.
It is too early for me to tell, but I was just wondering how I will be able to tell whether the dose is too high or small.
Thanks for your help!
Grace

Is it possible to get too much estrogen?

I think I was able to really tell I needed an adjustment about 2 months post op. It takes awhile for our bodies to use up our stored estrogen so it may not be noticeable at first. There is a page on this site in the hormone section that has the too much too little hormone checklist. This will help you to go through any symptoms you have and give you something to take with you to the doctors so you can get adjusted. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.

Is it possible to get too much estrogen?

Grace,
You are still very early post op so it is probably too soon to tell. Most of us have stored reserves of hormones and it can take some to use those reserves up. Many symptoms of imbalance can appear from fluctuating levels as those stores are used up. Also, just recovering from the stress of surgery can cause hormone fluctuations.

For future reference here is the list of symptoms of imbalance Too Much/Too Little I would recommend keeping a journal of your symptoms over the coming months. A journal can give a clearer picture if things are getting better or worse over time.
