Need advice please- had ablation, pre-cancerous cells

I am meeting with my OBGYN next week to most likely
schedule a hysterectomy.
I have been using this site to try and answer some of my questions.
I had an ablasion in July. The path report came back
with pre cancerous cells. I was told by my Dr there was no way now to follow up with the pre cancerous cells in the future because of my nova sure procedure.
She checked with an obgyn onc. and he stated that if I should have bleeding that it would be a good idea to have an hysterectomy to be safe. The last two months I have had spotting (just light) between my "so called cycle.
Also have had cramping .
I am 41, with my mother having a rare type of cervical ca.
I am unsure, confused and scared if I don't do something to end up down the road with cancer, and wished I would have done something before.
So I guess I will see what next week brings.
I would love to have anyone's thoughts on this.
Thanks

Hi queenbee 793

I'm sorry for what you are going through. My endometrial biopsy was far enough in advance that we had the results before I opted for my ablation, but my GYN told me the same thing you mention... that if my pathology was abnormal/cancer he would have to recommend a hysterectomy instead since methods typically used to detect cancer would be inadequate after the lining is ablated.

A second opinion is recommended any time we are dealing major medical decisions. You mention that your GYN checked with a GYN/Onc, but perhaps you'd feel better if you had a 1:1 consult yourself.

There are several good articles on THIS LINK that might help you prepare for your visit next week. I hope it goes well. Please keep us posted.

Gentle s,
Beth

Thank you for your reply.
I wanted to hear if anyone on this site was in a simular situation like I am.
I just feel very confused, and scared.
I know what I should do, but was hoping that it would get better or go away. (NOT Real I know....)
I have faith in my doctor, she is wonderful.
This week will bring me more answers and questions I'm sure.
I will probably be set up for surgery Jan/ Feb.
Thank you again,
L
