Appropriate Gift

I was in the hospital for 4 days and all of the nurses and CNAs were fabulous. I really want to send a joint gift for them to show my appreciation. Flowers are beautiful, but eventually die. I was thinking about a nice healthy fruit basket, but I'm not sure if it'll all disappear before each of them works a shift again. If any of you out there are nurses or CNAs, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what type of gift would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
Iam not a nurse- I had my local bakery deliver cookie trays to the hospital (both sugar free cookies and regular cookies). My bakery sells them by the pound.

I hadn't thought about the nursing staff so much - but I was planning to get my doctor one of the HysterSisters mugs.

I took jars of Jelly Belly's to both my doctor's office and the nurse's station at the hospital and they were all pleased!

A nice letter about how wonderful they are at their jobs written to the director of nursing and the unit supervisor would also be a very welcome gift!

Trixie, what a great idea! I think I'll include that with my gift. I'm sending DH to the store to pick up an assortment of teas, hot chocolates, and coffees. I'm going to assemble my own gourmet gift basket. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful ideas.
