I meant to add that my Doc won't let me return to work until 12/24. I'm a Program Instructor at a Day service for developmentally and mentally disabled adults. I'm a one on one for 1/2 of the day with a 210 pound, 30 year old "12 month old." He whips me around, knocks me on my butt, lays on me, slaps me, etc. he's a bull, but man, I love 'im, lol.

I am same day TAH/BSO my dr visit is tomorrow, still waiting on path. report. My incision feels very heavy at this point, I think because some of the nerves have healed and I am feeling the effects from that. And I still find myself needing a nap most days. The positive is I have lost 25 lbs. and still have swelly belly that should be some more lbs.
Have an of you waited on the hormones? I have but will be checked for those at the end of the week. My surgeon has had TAH herself, great for real information, said I had 6 wks. worth of hormones in my system, my experience would back up her statement.

1st of all . .God Bless you for what you do. I have a disabled cousin. He's 4 years old but is like a 40 lbs newborn. I have so much respect for people in your profession.

I have not been told when I can return to work yet. I'm a CPA/Controller so not as much physical activity.

Awww, thank you for the kind words. It is a challenge and takes a lot of patience, but I love it.
I hope you can enjoy your remaining time off

Did you go to the doc yesterday? What was the answer about the discharge?
Hope you're doing better!

Good Morning.

I had my 4 week post op appt yesterday and it didn't go well. I still have a serious infection in my vaginal cuff and now it has spread. They gave me a shot in the office and now I'm on 10 days of antibiotics. Get re-tested on 12/26. My vaginal cuff isn't healing yet . . she said I'm about two weeks post op, infection has slowed everything down.

My pathology report came back that I had the early stages of cervical cancer. I was so not expecting to hear that. We weren't looking for cancer, they just found it. Surgeon said to be thankful they removed the cervix in surgery because they are pretty sure they got it all. Whew! I was a little numb all day yesterday after hearing this news. I expected to hear . . "you're doing good".

Long story short . .still have all my restrictions for two more weeks. Fun, Fun.

Michelle

Michelle-

The cancer must have been really shocking news. It's SUCH a blessing they found it, though.
Glad they are treating the infection aggressively. I know it isn't fun, hearing that you are behind on your healing. Try to remember that it WILL get better!

Keep us posted.
