cath back in

Tried all day yesterday to urinate. Failed. Most horrible painful sensation, kind of like when you hold it to long and then when you finally get to go, you get that tingling urge all over. But this is so intense and so I ended up with a cath again. Problem is. This hurts to. My bladder is so painful. I wish I had never done this. I have to go thru this for a week before they try again. Tho no one is saying what this is and so I am finding myself depressed. Anyways, glad the rest are doing well. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Hi all, I'm back home after having TAH on 12/17. I feel pretty good, still on pain meds. All in all, I feel much better than I thought I would at 2 days post-surgery.

Blood stained discharge??

Hi All,
I had my TAH on 11th Dec, and came home on 15th. I have had no bleeding and have been feeling better everyday. I woke up this morning quite sore (more than normal) and have noticed I have a blood stained mucosy discharge. Should I be concerned about this? Temp is slightly elevated.

Miss Trish

Miss Trish,

A blood stained mucousy discharge, I am assuming is from your abdomenal incision, and not a vaginal discharge? If it is an abdomenal incisional discharge, report to your MD. Anything mucousy, yellow in color, foul-odor, or any discharge from your incision, redness or swelling to it, you should contact your MD, and keep watch of your temp too. Take your anti-inflammatory (Advil) as advised by MD. Anything unusual or concerning, call your MD.

~Love your Nurse, Brooke

Hi,
Brooke - I had my ovaries removed. I am 49 (for 3 more months) and my Dr put me on a patch I change once a week. It is ESTRADIOL 0.1 MG/day. The nurse put one on me in recovery at the hospital. So far I have had no side effects. I saw my Dr on Monday and we talked about what to use and since I had no side effects from the patch thats what I got. I put a new one on Tuesday. So now I only have to remember that every Tuesday is change the patch day.
I have a question Did any of you have a rectocele repair also? If so are you still haveing some pain and drainage with it ? The DR said it will take 6 weeks or more to heal and I may have drainage for 4 weeks or more.
Just wandering what is going on with others.
Prayers and best wishes to everyone.

TAH with vaginal wall repair 12-10

TAH 12-10-07..First post. Surgery went better than I expected. Ended up needing abdominal hysterectomy due to adhesions at bladder, but kept the ovaries. I also needed a repair for a rectocele.

Feeling a little more energy today..actually went to the grocery with DH as I was feeling Cabin Fever. Had a nap after. Wow, how did I ever get so much done before?

Disgruntled with teenage dd x2 that are being less than sympathetic or helpful. Not fully sure DH understands how much this has taken out of me.

I am looking forward to keeping in touch with my new sisters. Thanx for the support and good luck and speedy recovery to all.
