headaches

Happyhippie-
Are you taking any HRT? I was trying not to but the headaches were killing me. They were not normal headaches but I would not have called them migraines either. They kind of took over my whole head.
I started the HRT (estradiol) 4 days ago and the headaches are much better. I know HRT is not right for everyone but those headaches are hard to deal with.

My lower back is also killing me. I have a big knot that is about 4 inches long on my left bum and it hurts for about 6 inches all the way around it. I am walking around with an ice pack wrapped in a towel down my pants. My kids and my two nieces think that is funny.

Bye for now

Hello Ladies,

I am 3.5 weeks into my recovery and have been feeling fabulous... had a LSH came home after 2 days in hospital and took only ibuprofin (600mg) for pain as needed. Narcotics made me sooo nauseous I told the DR to forget the 'script for them.

Like I said...I've been feeling great...and yesterday I started spotting. I appears that I'm having a "mini-period". I checked the calendar and, lo and behold, the spotting showed up just when my "regular" was due to start. Called my doc and they said to keep and eye on it for a couple of days as I'm experiencing no pain and feeling great overall.

Anyone else out there got the "mini"? I was really not prepared for this!

LSH on 12/11/07 due to fibroids, 19 week uterus, 42 yrs old

Interesting Chin. I've had hardly any spotting until yesterday..and I've been trying to work out whether it might be a mini-p or the internal stitches dissolving at this time. Like you, no pain, but it does seem to be clear and red.

Did you have your cervix removed? I kept mine, but was told it was carefully cauterized (don 't know how to spell that) which should stop mini-p. apparently the cervix makes its own mini lining each month, which comes away..

..not many people are unlucky enough to still have periods, even if you keep your cervix.

fingers crossed, it's the stitiches..

I have had a "mini period" for 2 weeks now. This is frustrating. Plus I still itch! Dr. prescribed Metrogel but I did a little research on it and it looks like scary stuff. I'm putting it off for a few days and trying Chinese medicine first.

I'm doing okay - just a little tired still in the evenings. Caught a little cold so I'm even more tired.

I'm not looking forward to teaching my classes tomorrow! I think it would be okay if I didn't have the cold too.

Hi ellie,

Yup, I kept my cervix, and ovaries. As I read more posts/info I see that this is not unusual. I'll call the doc on tomorrow and let him know what's going on. It's been almost 24 hrs and the spotting seems to be going away.

More to come!

HappyHippie, I know what you mean about the headaches and the back pain. The back I can tolerate but, these headaches have to go or I can't even think about going back to work in two weeks. Mine seem prompted by the regular 3:00a.m. hot flashes that arrive faithfully!! What shall we do? 50/MH
