Activia Yogurt!

Yes DW-Debbie, Blessedmg, and anyone else, I cannot recommend the "Activia Yogurt" enough, for this severe upper intestinal gas pressure pain! It truly has been the ONLY thing that has helped me! I wish I had known about this 5 weeks ago right after surgery, because I have been suffering for weeks with the pain! As bad as my problem was, I did feel some relief in about one week of eating a daily Activia yogurt. It states to give it a 2 week trial, to take effect. I will keep my frig stocked up on this stuff, and I was actually able to finally eat "meat" this week, for the first time since surgery, now 5 weeks post-op! I have been unable to eat meat or anything with spice or flavor, I have been on the blandest diet, and eating cereal for dinner many nights, because that's ALL my tummy could handle! I did not eat any Holiday foods over Christmas or New Year's, nothing! I would feel full very quickly and in set the pain and pressure. I also have lost some weight too, my pants are pretty baggy now.---That's how bad I was!

It must be the active cultures of "lbulgaricus, s.thermophilus and bifdobacterium, with bifidus regularis" combined! .....haha!! -- How do like *that* for FINALLY some relief!!

aaahhhh!

Much love,

I'm going to try that Activa yogurt - thanks for the tip!

I've had a bit of a setback. Worked last week and did fine - a little tired and swelly by the end of each day but not bad. Last night I came home feeling especially sore and swollen.

Today the soreness is not going away - it's actually alot worse! And my belly is quite swollen. I called my Drs office and they said that they think I overdid it yesterday and maybe pulled something. They said to take 600 mgs ibuprofen and to call if it gets worse.

I really thought I was taking it easy - I'm extremely active normally and I thought I was moving around at a snail's pace and being ultra careful. Evidently not enough!

So now I'm home from work early and laying in bed typing away at my laptop - just like 3 weeks ago!

Hey - is anyone finding that they are hungry as usual but get full feeling really fast. If I eat just a little too much I feel terrible.

Hi sisters.
I had my tah-bso on Dec. 11, '08 and came home on the 13th. The surgery went well! I began to walk the hospital halls on the 12th, and have been walking and easing back into my life ever since. I might have showered too long and reopened my incision a little bit when I showered my first day home, so now I'm taking antibiotics and having weekly follow-up visits with the ob-gyn clinic because my incision is leaking. The staple removal was not very pleasant, but other than that I'm good! I'm glad the sisters are here!
Love and many Blessings to all!

back to work?

I had a partial vaginal hysterectomy and a posterior repair and am wondering how many of you who had similar procedures are back to work. How was your first day? Thank you to all of you who have shared your recovery...it is so helpful..

Wow- thanks for the tip on the yogurt! Now I have to see if I can get it here in Australia! To those that said they get full quicker or feel really bad when they overeat--"yes!" in fact, I think I must overeat every day and every day I get a terrible tummy ache---you think this would be negative reinforcment for me but I love my food too much!!!! Especially pizza!!!

I go back to work (I think) next week but I am still swollen at night and still spotting pink pus-like stuff---yuk---dogs are still sniffing me at the dog park so I know I have further to go here---by end of the day, I just have the most foul odor in that area---quite embarassing and I am sure that if it continues, even if I do get the all clear for "sex", my DH won't come near me! I have hesitated calling doc about this again as he said spotting could happen for 6-8 weeks...

ma_teacher,
I had a total vaginal hysterectomy with ovaries removed and rectocele repair on Dec 11. I went back to work on Jan 2nd - 8hrs per day. First week I worked 3 days, I was tired everyday did nothing after work but rest. Rested all weekend. Then last week felt like my old self. Come home and made dinner eveynight.
I have a desk job so not much lifting or standing. I was tired but I was tired at home. For me I think it helped to get back on my schedule.
