feeling depressed

To Joy 49-
I think you are right about going back to work. Before the surgery I worked out after work and my DH and I did a lot of things together. I am sooooo tired now, but I think it is from being in bed so much. It's depressing.
I felt really good the first two weeks after the surgery and then I tore some stitches inside the vaginal wall. Since then I have been afraid to do anything.
I think I'm going to go back to work next week. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Thank you again to all of you...you have really helped me get through this.

Hello to everyone of my dear sisters!!! I haven't been on in a while, just trying to slowly get back to normal.

So far so good! I think that I am finally healing like I was suppose to do in the beginning. I had my LAVH-kept ovaries on 12-11 and was back in the hospital on 1-2-08 due to some complications prob. brought on myself. But now everything seems to be improving rapidly. Still have the late afternoon tiredness but not as bad as the weeks before. I go back to the doctor on the 25th, I am really nervous about what he is going to release me to do. (if you know what I mean) LOL!!! I am sure the DH will be ecstatic but I don't know how I am feeling about that right now. And with work, I have to lift a lot of heavy objects often during the day and have to sit for extended periods of time too. So I am not looking forward to going back to work. I wish I could do something from home.

Anyways, I have been reading different posts and most of you seem to be doing well and I am very happy for all of you. For those who are still in the "slow recovery mode" (including myself) you are in my prayers.

I have really enjoyed being in contact with so many courageous women. I don't know what I would have done some days if I had not had someone to sound off to and just whine to (LOL) when it was needed. Everyone here has been so kind and understanding with lots and lots of encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything. I hope that we all can continue to keep in touch through this website after we get back to work and our personal lives. Take care of yourself and remember to pamper yourself everyday, you deserve it.

Love you Lots,

Hi Ladies,

I went to the doctor today about my swelling problems, and he feels it is basically leftover hematoma "juice" so to speak.

He said I can go back to work when I feel ready, but at this point, not feeling to ready yet. My employer is understanding too. I don't want to go back to work yet, as I can't fit into any of my pants! I think I will get some skirts or something. I am not scheduled to go back for another 2-3 weeks yet, but if I am feeling up to it, he will write me a note to come back earlier. So, just playing it by ear for now.

Aside from looking like a penquin, all other systems are o.k. I have an inflammatory disorder that is acting up, put that is to be expected considering the trauma to the body.

Anyway, I was thinking about what a help this group has been to me today, and then I had a thought about something. I was wondering if anybody knew if the HysterSister's are involved in any charity projects for women? It seems like our little group for this surgery time period was pretty close knit, and I thought it would be a good thing if we could help women in need in the world somewhere. I saw a piece on 60 minutes about women who are victems of the war in the Congo, and I thought it might be kind of cool if the power of the HysterSisters could reach out and help them.

I will check around on the website to see if I can find out anything, and if you know of anything like this, you can let me know via private message.

Swelly Belly

If you are going back to work or really feeling tired try a Tummy Reinforcing "Panyt Girdle". It provides support for you belly, releived my back pain and kept me going longer without the after effects. I too teach and am on my feet and this helped me quite a bit. Try it! I also look better in my clothes!

Well I went back to work and was there for about 1 1/2 hours and my boss the dr came in a said "she did not realize how overwhelming 3 kids were gonna be (she had #3 by c-sec 12=11=07) and she was cutting back and I need to let you go and oh I need the key back" No I'm sorry, thank you, wish you luck or I will give you a recomendation. Needless to say all of yesterday was a blurr and total shock. I did file for unemployment yesterday and today I've been searching the paper and internet. So today I realized that I am not so much mad but offended by her lack of compassion and caring. My DH says this could be a good thing that maybe I need to rest some more. I know I will bounce back and all will be good.

Thank you all for reading this I need to vent a little.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Thanks fot the "panty girdle" tip to help alleviate back pain - I'll have to give it a try. I started back to work today; I wore a "Thermacare" lower back heat wrap & it was wonderful to have the constant heat on my lower back - I highly recommend it!
I was "nervous" about returning to work, but I must admit it was nice to get dressed up again & feeling like a life is returning to "normal."
Looking forward to continuing reading updates & meeting again in 6 months!
Best wishes to you all for continued healing & recovery.

mvrk95-so sorry to hear about your job. That is awful she could have been a little nicer in her words. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that it works out. Maybe hubby is right and this happened for a reason. You have been through a lot in the past month and half. Take the time to get back on your feet fully and then see how things are. Remember you are the princess and you need to be pampered.
Hugs and prayers,

mvrk95 -- sorry about your job loss... but really! it's an opportunity for you to have additional recovery time and review immediate options while you collect unemployment. job searching is pretty much a full time job so remember to take your breaks (just as if you were at the office!) to rest your eyes, your mind and your body.

the very best of luck to you. 2008 may very well prove to be a turnaround year for you in health and in business!
