tigger88- Are you taking any HRT? like a patch...
My information sheet on my patches say to call my Dr if I have leg pain.
Could this be the cause? Sorry you are having problems.

JG, Hon I am so sorry you having to deal with all this. I am praying things get better. I definently sympathize with you on the depression. I have been battling depression since all this has happened to me. I am on medication and I am in the process of finding a counselor. Good luck to you and we are always here for you anytime. Remember, God doesn't give you anything you cannot handle. I know these words probably do not help. I have to keep telling myself this each and every day. I am sending lots of 's and 's your way!!! Talk to you soon!

Short, thanks for asking how I am doing... here's the progress report.

I am going to go back to work on Monday, had the doctor's clearance. Had some discharge and am being evaluated for infection, but the doc doubts that's the problem, probably just the stiches dissolving. I am still swollen up, can't wear my pants yet, and still have kagaroo pouches everywhere (must be multiple roos in there). I talked more with the doc about the surgery today, and not only do I have a bikini cut on the outside of the skin, but I also have an internal cut through the peritonium midline from below the bikini cut all the way to the belly button (vertical midline). He said my uterus was too big to pull out laparoscopically, so he did the big cut instead. He said "what you see outside is nothing compared to all of the stiches insided." So, no wonder I didn't feel good and am going so pokey.

I also have a rare disorder of the allergic cells, so all inflammation is ramped up incredibly more so for me than the average person. He said that this disorder, coupled with the hematoma and fact that I am thin, makes me a swelly mess for at least 9-10 weeks post-op. Joy oh Joy. So girls, I am in my own unique category to which no other can be compared. BLEH

Anyway, I would appreciate all prayers at this time. Your's truly has had a very bad year. I lost one job, moved to another state, found another job that turned out to really be SUCKO with super nasty people. Then I got hit by a drunk driver who totaled out my car. Then I was in two other fender-benders, and unbelievable my car was hit by lightening. Then, I proceeded to get the bad biopsy (we think you have cancer), time for hyst, no babies, sorry (grieving). Dumped it all, found a new job, moved back home, worked two months, into surgery, stomach flu, hematoma, mom sick, etc.......

I am feeling depressed, so I am going to see a counselor and try to get out of this slump, because I feel like a MARKED WOMAN! Girls, this is just making me feel bad about me, and the hyst was the frosting on the cake. So wish me luck, say some prayers for me, because I'm trying to go in and get myself cleaned out (body and soul) and get back on a good road again.

Thanks for everything sisters, you've been great. Oh, buy the way, with regard to the whole vaginal cuff issue. My doctor claims with great certainty that my cuff is 3/8 of an inch... exactly. Like he had ruler? Dude... give me a break! What can I say, he's very proud of his work.... he exclaimed "I know EXACTLY where those stiches are."
Oh my Gosh JG you have had a rough year! I will definately pray and continue to pray for you! Counseling sounds good and maybe anti-depressants, they work good for me! And of course God first, may he send angels to be with you!

Just a quick ouestion, is anyone else awake till 4 or 5 am sleep till 8 or 9 am ? 4 hrs is really getting tough on the body. Maybe having fibro makes it worse (I know it does, stupid statement ) at least I'm single so I'm not keeping anyone else up except the dogs!! I had a friend laugh at me and say after a hysterectomy forget sleeping more than that for life...uggh hugs and prayers to all, Happy Hippie

I'm sleeping ok... but not as good as before the TAH. I find a nice glass of wine before bed helps to relax me before bed.

On another question, can someone tell me where I can find the exercise to reduce my swelly belly? I am 6 weeks post op today and still have a swollen belly. I recall some of the sisters saying exercise helped but can't seem to find the reference to the exercise. I'm also still tender (more so this week than a week ago) esp when I move around - any suggestions on this? I'm thinking that I'm moving around more and it's just my abdominal muscles are not used to all the movement. thanks

Hi there!

Just returned from hospital where I had my 6 weeks check-up. I had an SAH 6 weeks ago and the results of the biopsy were good! YAY!!!!
My uterus was enlarged though, due to multiple fibroids (or myoma as we call them here). My gyn explained that a normal uterus weighs around 80 grams and mine was........(trumpets please!!).......630 grams! (I am petite, only 5 ft, so for me that is a lot!) She said, they did not find anything else out of the ordinary during the surgery, my ovaries looked fine, so they left them in place and they tried to cauterize the cervix as best as they could, so I should not experience any monthly spotting (which I could confirm).
I asked whether I am now fully healed or whether I should still be cautious. She explained that the wound(s) (internally and externally) have healed now and should be strong enough. I can go back to my (ice)skating, skiing, diving (I just love to dive, but in the Netherlands you often have to carry your equipment from the parking lot over 200-300 meter and climb (and also descend again) a slippery dyke to get to the water) and fitness (including abs! ) No restrictions, with as simple rule: if it hurts, I am overdoing it and I should take it easier!
You can imagine that I am extremely happy with this!

With regard to the examination I got an even bigger surprise, NO internal examination!!!!! She only wanted to look at my scar and said it will take around a year to "clear up"(mine is burgundy coloured, but my scar tissue always is), the little pounch however will not disappear Well, o.k. I can live with that.

So these were my adventures of today, take care and enjoy your weekend!

No, I'm not on HRT. I'm seeing my doctor this afternoon, because this is starting to worry me.
