Hello to all! I went for my 6 week check-up on Friday and was told that everything is doing fine except for that same area before that was still taking its time healing. (sometime during my first couple weeks of recovery i had a stitch or two break internally and then internal tissue pushed through it and i went back into the hosp. the day after new years and i had to stay for 4 days). Anyways my Dr. said to give it some time and if it didn't heal up on its own that he could cauterize it with silver nitrate OUCH!!!

Anywho, I got a copy of my path report and my official diagnosis is Adenomyosis, cervical dysplasia(stage CIN111, which is the early stage of cervial cancer with no evidence of invasive cancer, PRAISE GOD), dysmenorrhea and menorrhagia. SO that was a mouth full. WHEW, glad that is all gone. I do have to go back every 6 months because of the CIN111 to make sure it doesn't come back on the vaginal walls. I total believe that God is in control and I will not fear this thing. It was a total fluke that I found out about the other cervical stuff. I went to the doctor first off because I was having joint pain and after it was all said and done my other probs. were discovered. So I know who is in control and that is where my faith is. I will do my part and have regular rechecks and God will be faithful and do His part.

Well ladies I also got the "greenlight" and boy was I a nervous mess!!! It wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be although it did hurt a little, suprisingly so my pain was more on the outside than on the inside. OF course my DH was totally ecstatic and said he had waiting on hearing that we were "Clear" all week long. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Well I hope that we all keep in touch. I will definately be on here May 10th to meet with everyone. I have really enjoyed being on here and been extremely blessed by each of you. Take care of yourself as you go back to work, luckily my Dr. kept me out of work until Feb.11 because of the minor set back that I had and he wants me to work up to lifting again and not rush into anything.

Have a great Sunday girls and I will be checking in again soon.

Much Love

Hi everyone. Update - I'm back to working full time - actually more than full time - working a lot since I'm working this seasonal temp job. It's going fine - just tired.

I had my 6 week check up this week and the Dr said that he could see during the internal exam that I have a bit more healing to to do as far as vaginal cuff goes (mind you I have been spotting for 4 weeks now) and he applied some silver nitrate (second time for this). I haven't spotted since.

He said that I should keep increasing activity gradually and to walk more for exercise. He's keeping me on a 25lb lifting restriction for 4 more weeks (I'm a potter - this is killing me!) and wants to see me Feb22. Also still no sex! I'm terrified of the first time anyway.

Except for being a bit tired, spacey, and swelly sometimes - I feel pretty good - no real pain in about a week and a half.

I've been working 6 days a week - my Sunday has gotten very special to me - laying in bed sun morning is sacred!

Hi there!

a quick post to tell you that I have been (ice) skating on Saturday and it was great! I am now a bit stiff and have some (muscle) pain in my buttocks, but it was worth it. Thanks for your concern, Ellie, I promise you that I will be careful! I don't want a relapse either, but I feel great being able to do some excercise again.

Have a good week ladies!

P.S. has anybody heard from Tinylibrarian? I hope all is o.k., Tiny L., if your read this, let us know how you're doing there "Downunder"!

Hi everyone
quite jealous actually Crispy...but I don't think I'll be far behind now..had a really good couple of days, and for the first time doesn't feel like 3 steps forward, 1 step back..

I've been doing school work too, and that has made me feel more normal.

Finally got my post-op appointment tomorrow(Monday)...thought it was Tuesday, so good thing I checked the letter. Starting to feel a bit of a fraud, as I still have at least 3 more weeks off. They're really stretched at work - nothing new, but I know it's making it much harder without me there...and I'm missing the kids so much more than I thought. Hope they remember me!

I'll come back tomorrow and update, but I think everything is fine.

have a good day everyone

I'm impressed with the ice skating. I'm being a nervous nelly abut doing anything too adventurous. I'm even afraid to go snowshoeing. i did ride my bike to an appointment about 20 blocks away and I was totally winded. I'm so out of shape now it's scary. got..to..walk! And stop eating so darn much. The scale hasn't shown any weight gain but I'm sure I've lost muscle mass!

I'm trying to focus on healing but other stuff gets in the way.

Hi Ladies! I feel homesick reading about the snow and the ice skating! It's about 85 degrees and sunny here! I went back to work last week and it was like getting sucked back in to a huge vacuum of non stop meetings and emails etc. It's like I never left! Now I am wishing I had stayed out a few more weeks but seeing as how I feel almost 100% I would have felt too guilty.

My internal stitches aren't healed yet according to my doc so "no sex" for another week or so ...but now they are starting to "come out" and they sure are gross! I am also going to get referred to a gyn that specialises in menopausal treatment as my surgeon suggested.

Physically I am feeling much much better and started in with the weights and core work again. I sure am sore!!!! And, my appetite is back too unfortunately.

I do miss being at home and taking care of "me" so I'm going to find ways to do more of that this year. Life is so short and too short to be so consumed by "work" that we forget about our health. This operation has taught me an important lesson. If "we " don't take care of "us" no one else will right????

I hope all of us move forward this year with healthy bodies and "spirits!"

doing much better

Hi ladies-
Last week was the first week that I actually felt good! I was supposed to return to work after 6 weeks but I was feeling so poorly that I asked for another two weeks and am so glad I did!
I go tomorrow for my appt. with the gyno/surgeon (she is the same person.) The only thing that is bothering me are the hot flashes/night sweats. I'll talk to her about that when I see her. Would appreciate any advice you all have in that area. I am very nervous about getting the go ahead to have sex. Any advice out there to make it easier?
Anyway, I am able to work out on the treadmill again and the stitches in my vagina from the posterior repair are not uncomfortable any more. Also, very little spotting now. Thank you again to all of you for all your support and I have really enjoyed reading all your experiences because it helped me soooo much through my own recovery.

Love and peace and quick recovery to all!

Cynthia

crispyduck you are one tough girl. I can't even imagine getting on skates right now. Way to go to you for being able to do it.

elle64 good luck at the doctor tomorrow. I had my check up on friday and it wasn't so bad. I was very nervous and told the doctor and he was extra gentle about it. Don't feel guilty about having 3 more weeks off we all needed time to heal and you are very smart to have the extra time so you can work your way back.

lenayogini you are not alone on the outta shape thing. I get tired just going to the store for milk or something. Good luck with the walks.

tinylibrarian it is nice to hear from you some one just posted and ask where you were. Glad you are getting back to normal but not sure about the work. Sounds like you are too busy. You wore me out just reading about it. lol Good luck with the hormone thing. I have the patch and it is great because I don't have to remember to take a pill every day. Never was good at that. You are so right about the taking care of us thing. I have found out about that through this surgery.

ma_teacher good luck with the doctor tomorrow. As I said earlier I went on friday and got the all clear. Also was extremely nervous about the sex thing. Doctor said to tell hubby I was in charge and he had to bite on a bullet if he had to until I gave him the ok with everything. The doctor also told me to have plenty of lubricant the first 3 or 4 times at least. That helped the most. It was a little uncomfortable at first but got better as we went along. Guess what I am sitting here smiling. If that tells you how my weekend was. LOL

Well good luck ladies and hope everyone has a great week!

Glad all went well Debbie, worth the wait.lol

I'm just back from my doctors appointment, and as usual the first thing that strikes me is the difference between the advice we get over here. My surgeon just asked me if I'd had sex yet..and when I said no, she said well some people do you know, when they feel ready...

...so basically, no guidance as to when is okay...just when you feel ready...

We had a good chat about feedback though..and she was very interested in hystersisters..had a giggle at the misterhystersister.com site, just because it's hard to say..and now I have an appointment with her secretary to pass on information to improve pre-and post support for ladies in our area - could be good if it comes off.

I asked for a blood test, would like to know where I am with the anemia and whether taking the super-sized iron tablets and suffering the side-effects was worth it...

She was happy that I could go back to work after half term, and just ease into fast walking, jogging etc. She wasn't happy with me dancing till atleast 12 weeks, and I'll follow her advice. Wonder what she would have said to skating?lol...or even riding a bike...I'm hoping you ladies are much younger than me, so that I don't feel like such a wimp..lol

Is it just me, or does it feel like we can see the finishing line?

elle 64 glad to hear that all seems to be going good for you. Not sure about the comment about sex. Think she should have given you more advice. My doctor said to use lubricant first 3 or 4 times and that helped alot. Good to hear that she wants others to get support. We know first hand what support the doctors give people and this site is a must I think. I also asked for blood test wanted to make sure hormones, thyroid were ok also had doctor check anemia just in case. lol on skating I don't even want to think about doing something like that. I usually end up on my bottom more than on feet lol. Also you are not a wimp I am 48 and I think the older we get the more careful we are because we have lots of experience. Good Luck going back to work and remember to take it easy and don't forget to continue to pamper the princess you deserve it. I start back to work tonight and am very nervous since I am a cashier and do lots of moving, bending and lifting.

Don't forget to come back and keep us posted about your return to the real world.

Debbie
