Hello all! I am doing good. I started a weightloss competition. I got cleared on the 23rd, and ran the mile on the 27th. Went to a work out last night. I have been riding my bike anywhere from 5-8 miles a day. I feel great. A few twinges here and there. Had intercourse for the first time this past weekend, and it was great. It was the first time in a long time that it didn't hurt, or feel uncomfortable.!! good luck to the rest of you.

Well I read all your post since I last posted and I am once again sitting her laughing and have tears in my eyes. You ladies sure know how to make a woman feel better. You are the best bunch of ladies there are. Thank You all for the support and laughs.

I am feeling better today but not sure about in 5 minutes. (Darn hormones)LOL

Grace HL hope you do good without HRT. I would rather not have it but guess I really need it.

Rocky cat- How do you survive that many people in one room. I would be bald LOL Take it slow and easy and do lots of pampering.

elle64-Don't they prescribe lot of chocolate post-op? LOL

Am saying lots of prayers for all of us so we can get back to normal(what ever that is LOL) and get back together on the 10th of May.

Hi Ladies! I went to my GP (not the surgeon) yesterday for life insurance physical exam---after this surgery I figured I'd better get an increase on mine LOL! Anyways, I told her about surgeon taking my ovaries without permission because he made a judgement call during the operation and she was not happy. She said I needed to write him a letter and tell him exactly how I felt, that it was not okay, etc........she said he could get in much trouble for what he did- trying to play God with my body parts etc. At least it made me feel less like a hysterical woman after that.

Anyways, she referred me to a gyn that specialises in menopausal issues for women. She said the livial/tibolone I am on is highly recommended as an alternative to HRT because it is not a hormone replacement but a drug that mimics estrogen and is for women my age going thru early menopause etc. I felt better after meeting with her. I did lose a little weight pre/post operation so that boosted the spirits too!

Regarding the crying... I cried for two weeks straight post op and I still feel a bit weepy at times like the rest of you. I don't care though because it makes me feel better afterwards!

Regarding "sex"-- I feel bad for saying this but I finally got the green light but I feel "red light" instead. Is that terrible? I just don't feel like it...maybe because it's been so long or maybe it is the operation --I don't know and I am too embarassed to tell DH and I've been avoiding him for past few nights even though I know "I can do it"--I don't even think it is fear--

I have been working past few weeks and everyone tells me I look healthier and for the first time in a long time, other than my "problem" above, I actually am beginning to feel like I am happy I had this done.

I look forward to waking up and seeing how all of you are doing when I check my emails first thing in the morning. It makes me feel like I'm not alone. Have a good day everyone!!!

Hi there!

a quick note from me again before I am off to bed! (so funny all these time zones!)

I had a sales meeting this week in our office and I met a (male) colleague from Switserland who suffered 11 days before I had my surgery a burst appendicitis (I hope I am writing this correctly!)
They had to cut him open to "clean" him and remove what was left of his appendix. He has a vertical cut and although we did not go into many details, he suffers from pretty much the same as we do! (except for the hormone bit of course!)
He also feels rumbling in his intestines, he cannot eat what he ate before, he has to be careful of unwanted gas formation, he tires easily, he is not allowed to lift heavy things etcetera etcetera!

What I just wanted to say is, that it is not a "woman" thing, it is really the major surgery we had which makes us feel the way we do!

...and now :bedjump: !!

Just an update here. I am still sore inside with swelly belly and still have nausea too.

I went to the counselor. It seemed kind of stupid, but I will be fair and give it one more try.

My job changed for me while I was out. I found out I am being moved to a new facility, and am not happy because I suspect one of the administrators wants to dump her work on me. I get over to the new site, to discover they gave me the crappy desk (even the part-timer's was better), and that I am now seated right next to the administrator who wants to dump the work. Great.

I am not a coporate type, I am not a secretary. I was told this was a science writing position, and now I am getting suckered into secretarial labor at a reduced price. The boss won't even answer my emails when I ask for advice about what to do. Then, I hear everyone whispering something indicating that my boss might break off and start his own company. Great, I have been here three months. Couldn't they have told me that before I took the job? Would have been nice. Now I found out that there is a pay discrepency too. I have a Master's degree with 15 years of experience, and a guy who is fresh out of college, with his Master's, is making $5000 more a year than me.

Time to clean up the resume. Here we go again.

Hey ladies, Is anyone who kept their ovies experiencing vaginal dryness? I also found hairs growing on my face. I am still having some twinges and I have a funny odor. My breasts are sore too. I have no interest in sex at all. Is anyone else having same problems? I have not contacted my Dr. Yet. I just wander if this is normal or not? Curious Am I losing my mind?

Happy Friday!

Hi ladies,

Ellie what a crazy dream! I have crazy dreams too when I sleep after 10:00am. Always about work mosty about being hours late to work or back from lunch, or other crazy stuff. Your right your nightmare sounds like my job! And today I heard that they are dumping more paperwork on us to boot, and it's pre-school!

DW~I will try to remember your advise and take it slow and pamper myself whenever possible!

Tiny~ I am glad your begining to feel happy about your surgery even though you lost your ovaries. I know I am enjoying not having a period!

Crispy~that was some interesting info thanks for sharing!

JG~I hope things start to look up in the job dept, hang in there!

Update on my Dr appt today, he said it was nothing to worry about but he is glad I came in just in case. But I had to move my back to work date from the 11th to the 6th due to my leave papers they said the 4th. But at least I go in on a wed and it will only be 3 days for my first week back!

I wish everyone on our site a great~RELAXING~weekend!
God Bless,

I have kept my ovaries and I couldn't be more dry, if you know what I mean. LOL I also have the pleasure of PMS too, but it seems like it lasts a much longer time than before the surgery, which of course means sore boobs, etc. From everything I have read on this site, this seems to be normal and you are not crazy.

About your job, jg, they are giving you a raw deal. I know how you feel. I work freelance and my office has not given any work to me since two weeks before the surgery, even though I have called them twice to say I can work again. The boss was very upset when I told her I would be out for a few weeks for the surgery and she was worried about how the work would be done, but now there isn't any work coming my way. I feel that this decision to have this surgery has cost me my job, which I worked at, in some capacity, for 19 years. Plus, they called after the surgery, but didn't send a card or anything, which surprised and hurt me.

Sorry so long.

i can sort of relate to that type of stuff at work. the lady that was doing my job while i was out got mad because( she's a temporary employee, just two days a week) i took all my work back to my desk to start doing again and she got an attitude with me as if i'm not supposed to be there, my other co-workers told me that she changed everything on my desk as if it were hers. its gonna take me weeks just to get things back to normal.

i just had to vent!!!

Good ladies,

Well I have finished my 1st week at work, and whew what a week, I came back to a mess. Since it is the end of the year I have 15 performance evaluations I need to write, my staff is acting like their world came to an end while I was out so I had disciplinary issues I needed to handle and I found out on Monday we have a 30 new hires starting and I have to handle them for the next 4 weeks making sure their paperwork is completed and troubleshooting all their questions. But I stuck to my guns and only worked 1/2 days and my boss even helped me stick to the schedule but I can tell that he is excited that I will be back on Monday full time. I found I was tired but it was more exhaustion then sleepy, and my belly swells up alot at night. My appeitie is completly gone and I have lost 20lbs since the surgery.

JG-You hang in there and spruce up that resume you never know what opportunity will be coming your way especially if your old boss is talking about branching off. You are still in my prayers.
Short-I am not experiencing any dryness but it could be because I started my HRT 2 weeks after the surgery any the first treatment she had me on had my estrogen level's through the roof and now she has me on an oral pill that is half estrogen and half testosterone. Every morning I wake up I check to make sure I don't have any hairs growing with taking the testosterone. I would give the Doc a call.
Ellie-You are such a joy to have around your response are always just what is needed.
