Hey there!!

JG: I am doing alright. This 1st week back to work wiped me out!!! I am exhausted. My belly is so swollen and I too feel achy b/c I am so tired. I hope we are getting out of the pokey curse.

Ellie: I too feel the tightness in my belly especially when it is swollen. I too would love to know what NORMAL is!! This recovery feels like it is taking forever to get over. I amazed the girls at work today I told them to look at my belly when I first got to work and then at the end of the night I said look at it I look about 4 mths pregnant and they were all amazed. It is CRAZY!!!

Josie: I too still have swelly belly and tightness. I still get twinges and my hips were hurting a lot today. It was crazy busy at work today. I think I have been one of the slower ones on recovery compared to a lot of the girls on here. Myself, Ellie , and JG are about on the same recovery path. We all are different and bodies are different. I myself have had 2 surgeries and a procedure within a 3mth period. MY poor body went through a lot in a short amount of time. I think that is why I am on the slower path. Good luck to you and we are always here to help.

How do all of you feel -- are you normal & do you think I will be normal at some point?

Many thanks for any comments or advice you can give me.

Hi Ladies! I've been back to work now for a few weeks and am feeling great. I find that given my job requires a lot of "sitting in meetings" my belly swells up more than when I was home. Next week I am going to move around more during work or stand during meetings!

Have now ventured into having sex with my husband again and things are almost "back " to normal but i have to admit I was pretty scared about it as it had been so long as doc made me wait eight weeks to do the deed as my stitches internally had not healed after six weeks.

I have been able to talk to other women at work that have had this done and they all feel really happy they had the operation. I am finally beginning to feel that way too!

I hope all of you are well and recovering positively!!!

I am Exhausted!

Hi Sisters,

As always I read all your post I feel at home here, where everyone is going through something similiar and we all have such love and compassion for one another.

I want to thank all of you for being here and I thank God for you!

I also went back to work this week only three days and I am so exhausted!!! I got swelly belly within the first four hours and thought how I am going to make it through the day, but of course I was a trooper. I wore a light panty girdle thurs and a heavy duty one yesterday, it helped a little.

I guess it took more of a tow on me than I thought because today I couldn't get out of bed before 2:00pm, I felt like a zombie! After resting all day I am doing better. I guess it will just take time to get used to being on my feet all day.

I too only get some light pains now and then and some PMS but otherwise exhaustion is my only problem for now. So I feel for all of you that feel the same and I am happy for all of you that are doing better than me.

Have a Great weekend and hugs and kisses for Valentines Day!

Tracy

Hi everybody

okay, it's half term here, and so even though I haven't gone back to work, everyone else is on holiday(we have a week off, don't know if you have the same thing), so I don't feel so bad about still being at home...

on the other hand the original advice of 12 weeks is suddenly looking pretty good.

weird thing is that I'm still having the tight, uncomfortable belly, but I actually went for a run today - so what's with that. Is it possible for one part of your body to be exhausted, while the rest of you wants to run around the park?...and it felt good !lol. It was such a beautiful, sunshiney, mild day here.

I'm still waiting to see what the consequences of the running will be...but so far, apart from the belly, it seems to be okay. I really think the anaemia thing must be sorted...yay.

Not doing anything for Valentine's Day, but do have another date on Saturday. He's a poetry writing computer programmer, how cool is that? He's put some of his poems on the internet, and is even publishing a book. he seems to write about his experiences, so maybe his next poem will be about dating a slightly loopy hyster-sister...I think not.lol.

I've told him about the surgery...so far I've only ever had a slightly protective reaction to this information from guys. I think they see me as a little vulnerable because of it. Little do they know, little does anyone know what we've all been through, apart from us!!

Anyway, my son obviously thinks I nolonger need looking after as he's gone off round the country to visit his friends at various universities..loughborough, leeds, birmingham and then to his girlfriend in newcastle for valentines day - bless their hearts. So I'm going to spend a few days with my friend in Hull. You've probably never heard of any of these places.lol.we are such a small island compared to the expanse of the US.

She refuses to have the internet at home, so I will be cut off for the week. well for 2 days from Wednesday, lol. I get withdrawl symptoms if I can't get online.

Take care all,
hope those at work are bearing up, and kyla, hope all goes well at the doctors on wedsnesday

btw sarah, i think it's a good idea to share you're symptoms with the people you work with...atleast they can empathise a little with your discomfort...take care poppet.

Have fun there Ellie and enjoy your trip! It is only 3 degrees today here in Michigan, USA. They are giving tips on how to avoid frostbite and hypothermia on TV. England sounds so cool! I would love to visit there someday ( I'm 1/4 English, as we say here in America). I wonder if I have any distant relatives still living there? I should do an ancestory search and find out.

I am coming along with my recovery, slowly. Still swelly, still can't wear my pants. I hope I am not just getting fat!

I was able to do a "mini" aerobics tape yesterday. It felt good to get off the couch!

wow that is cold...we're having a very mild, wet winter. i ran in a t-shirt yesterday. It's not such a good thing - the old global warming has definitely changed the weather here since I was little.

ancestory is such a funny thing. my sister did our family tree, and I have Irish, Scottish and English family, way back...but let's face it if we go further, I probably have the Romans or Vikings to thank for being here.lol...and so do you if you have European ancestors.

I think the here and now is more important, and the world is becoming a very small place. we have many different nationalities moving into Britain at a fast pace. as the european union is expanding, people from poland, rumania and turkey are coming here. it's actually causing a bit of a language problem in schools. we have kids under the heading, EAFL, English as a foreign language.

anyway, off to hull, have a lovely week everyone
