Hi Siri

the hormone thing sounds like a nightmare. It never ceases to amaze me, how vulnerable we are to changes in our hormones. I'm so sorry you are still having to wait before they can offer you any relief...it must seem endless to you.

Fingers crossed that the lumps are benign, presuming you've found them early...are you having to wait for long for tests, or have you had those already? I have several friends, and my mum, with whom I've had to wait for results...you can't even start dealing with this, until you know exactly what you're dealing with.

Wish I could do more for you...keep us posted.

You're in my prayers

My thoughts go out for you---this was so rough -- let alone dealing with the hormones & lumps -- hang in there -- you sound optimistic about the whole thing -- much better than I would be -- again, I'm thinking about you...this site has helped me so much -- everybody always asks me -- "How are you feeling?" they want you to respond -- oh fine, -- but when you really answer their questions, they just move on -- the women on here really care about how you're feeling -- I guess, I learned that when I ask someone how they're feeling, that I really need to care because it helps so much to be able to talk about things with someone who really does care.

Thinking about you,
Josie Cocker

I used Black Cohash and Evening Primrose Oil capsules to get rid of hot flashes and night sweats when I went trough menopause naturally many years ago. If you want more info just ask me.

BTW - hot flashes can also be refered to (for some humor) as "My own little private summer" or if you are a working gal as a "Power Surge".

Sisters all,

I'm sitting here with tears dripping, reading what you've written. I didn't mean to sound such an alarm. Bless you, all. Part of the time-lag is because my insurance won't pay for my needed mammogram til March since they go by the calendar year (a**holes).... And I know I can't afford it out of pocket. So that's March 3. (Health care reform, anyone?)

Then a week later I have an appt with my breast doctor (lucky me, a man)... (he's been great over past few years).... to go further with results, hopefully fine. Then a week after that, when my gyn learns what's up with my breasts, I can see her and start hormones. Deep breath.

Lady DB, thank you for the herb info.... I've been avoiding herbs lately because they interact badly (make me jittery) with a med I have to take. But I know other women who swear by them.

As for the flashes, I don't hate them! I actually laugh, and so does my husband (except when I kick his side of the blanket off the bed)....

Love you all so very very!

I'm adding this: Obviously my gyn isn't terribly worried about the lumps she found, because I know that if she were she'd have gotten me to a lab and doctor immediately... and I'm sure in emergency the insurance people eat it. I don't think I'm sitting on a landmine.

Thank god the docs consider how the parts connect! I hadn't thought about how hormones effect breast changes too. Just wanted to make sure you all don't think I have neglectful doctors. It's just bad timing and my heated impatience. -- xoxoxo, Siri

Thats what I mean about hormones Siri. They were keen to make sure I kept my ovaries, and avoided early menopause, because of the possible connections between breast cancer and HRT in my family. I think the link has become well known in recent years, my mother was ill more than 15 years ago, when HRT was fairly new and they just suspected it. I don't think I would be allowed artificial hormones.

Since then hormone therapy is much more measured and doctors are conscious of the possible side effects...which means that everyone can be more aware, hopefully. Looks like your doctors have got your back, even if your insurance people haven't.

Meanwhile, I've finished my first week back at work. Body is getting back to normal, although I'm still getting the most hideous back ache after a few hours of activity. I don't want to take pain killers, because I'm taking the pain as a warning about over doing it.

I'm still waiting for my brain to catch up...don't seem to be able to retain half as much as before...okay when I'm only doing half days...lol.

Looking forward to a restful weekend..hoping everyone is still doing well...

Merciful Heavens! Holy Cow Batman!

I woke up on Friday at 2 AM with these awful pains in my lower right hand side, just above my incision. It continued all night long, and by morning, I was nauseated. I decided to take some Dulcolax laxitive, which complied with my request and delivered me a package, so to speak, later in the morning.

However, the stomach ache continued, and at lunctime, I left work to take, what I thought, would be a quick trip to the doctor.

Well, to make a long story short, I got a workup for an APPENDICITIS, as the doc was afraid it might be my appendics! After drinking some of the most NASTY contrast drinks known to mankind, I took an impromptu trip through the CT scanner, to check out what was up with the belly.

The bottom line: A-ok. The hysterectomy stuff looked FINE in there too!

So now the doc thinks it's a GI problem, so off to the GI doc I go.
Seriously ladies, if I would have had to go under the knife again for an appendectomy, I would have flipped!

At least I got a scan of my hyst, and there wasn't anything messed up there. Considering my hematoma mess, the whole experience was quite informative and comforting!

Hanging in there!

Hi ladies,

I feel so disconnected from our wonderful site! I continue to be exhausted everyday and have some minor aches now and then but in general I am doing good!

It sounds like most of you are hanging in there too and feeling generally the same. Jg glad to hear your okay. I would have flipped too! and Siri prayers for you and your lumps!

My Breasts actually shrunk a whole size! Why oh why couldn't I have shrunk in other places! I thought maybe its because I am no longer on the pill, I have been on it forever and I did lose a few pounds but come on a whole size!

I think of your ladies often and you are in my prayers. Have a great week!
