discharge....again

Well, it's good to see I'm not alone. Too bad we don't live close to each other, we could have a huge pity party complete with chocolate!

I am going to see my dr. tomorrow morning. I was hoping the nurse would say that she'd make note of it, but since it was such a small amount, I wouldn't need to be seen. Not to be. She spoke with the dr. and he wants to see me again. I'll let you know what happens.

Jen;

Good luck and be sure to report back to us...I'm currently pretending I don't see the discharge and hoping that will make it go away.

How long did you all have bloody discharge. My TAH/LOA was 2 weeks ago yesterday. I am of course still swollen and stuff. I am still achy too. I am concerned because I am a bleeder. Docs always have a hard time with me in surgery because I bleed profusely. I got to doctor tomorrow for a wound check follow-up because last week this time I was still open.
Yesterday I had to change pads at least 3 times. the blood would come out in gushes. I mean not as heavy as a heavy period, but still, I just don't know what is normal and what isn't.

To LSH112 I feel the same as you! My hyst was supposed to be in January; I wanted to wait til after the holidays were over. But I was in SO MUCH PAIN that the dr didn't want to wait, especially when they found out I also had gallstones. I had to have 2 ops at once.
It's over and done with now, but I still wonder if I should have waited.

Back from the dr. He believes that it may have been caused by another piece of granulation tissue. He couldn't see it, but assured me that it doesn't mean that it's not there. He said it could be hidden in a fold or could be too small for him to see. There really wasn't a lot of discharge. He asked me if I had pain and I told him I always have pain.

After he examined me, we talked about pain control and "phantom pains". I truly do not believe I'm feeling "phantom" uterine pain, just regular old abdominal pain. Anyway, he put me on Amitryptoline (sp?). He informed me that it used to be an antidepressant, but was more commonly used for pain control now for chronic pain. Chronic pain. Just what I always wanted.

I asked him about fluid in my abdomen, but he can't tell me that. He told me to make sure and mention it to the rheumatologist when I see him in January. he doesn't have to worry about that -- I'll be giving him quite an earful about my problems! There will be no holding back ANYTHING from this guy. I want to be fixed!

Gee whiz ... vaginal cuff repair surgery. At what point was this necessary and what were your symptoms?

That's the area where I'm still healing and need to continue restrictions, but my doc didn't use any treatments. I go back next Tues to check it again. She must think another week will help the healing. She said that I looked "raw."

Hi, I noticed your online name is lovetowalk, have you walked with any of Leslie Sansone DVDs or tapes? I'm an avid Leslie walker and can't wait to get back to it. I've been doing just a mile a day, but very motified.

I used to love to walk.........Well, I still probably do, I just don't have the energy to do it. We used to take the kids to a nature center almost on a weekly basis from spring to fall to walk the trails, but I was not able to do it at all this year and only a couple times last year. I'm hoping to get back into that soon.

Lincoln lady, yes, I am a Leslie Sansone fan. Yeah!! I haven't been using any of her DVDs since before surgery, but I thinking about trying soon, like you said, very much modified. Hey, that's the beauty of it.

I've been walking though. It seems easier actually to be walking forward, rather than in place. I've done the world's smallest side steps, kicks, knee lifts.

I lost 70 lbs and have maintained about 60, by using Leslie's programs. Hopefully, when I get well, I will get back in gear and lose this. I weighed the same on Tues that I did prior to my D&C in mid October.

I've been doing some arm movements ... bicep/triceps curls without weights.

ScrapperJen - please try walking again. Try walking for a few minutes, even 5 or 10, to get started back.

I wondered after surgery how I would ever walk again, but I was up the next day walking down the hall. When I got home, I started with a few min, then went to 10 min, 15, 20, and now I'm at 30 min, usually twice per day. Some days if I'm out for a few hours, I may only get once in.

I think walking has really aided my recovery, though I need another week to heal. (after my 6 wk appt yesterday)

Are you walking outside to get those minutes in? It's probably still pretty warm down there? I'm up and about all day, going from computer room to kitchen, etc, I'm never really tired enough to lay down during the day, but I'm ready for bed by 9pm and get up a couple of times during the night to go to the bathroom and then I get up around 6:30am.
I absolutely love Leslie Sansones' DVD's. She is so easy to follow and is very motivating. I just did the 1 mile today, but no knee lifts or kick backs as I'm only 15 days after surgery. I've lost 12 pounds and would like to lose about 5 more. God willing!
Take care
