Post-Op Pain Expectations

I envy that your pain meds are working. Thankfully I have a high pain tolerance, because I also have a high pain medication tolerance.(not even morphine kills the pain) I am 3+ weeks out and can always tell when I do too much. The oxycontin I was prescribed works for me like motrin on most people. Don't feel bad that you are having pain, you did have major surgery.
I have good days and bad days, both are contributed to what I had done the day before. Pay attention to your bodies and don't over do it.
I called my older sister, with question(she had procedure last year) about pain. She said she can still tell a year later when she over does it.
We all heal differently, if you need the pain meds, call your doctor. I just think most doc's don't like to give you too much, if you can deal without them.
Tiacanuck hit it on the head, if you can't feel pain, you won't know when you've done too much.
