Where'd my ovaries go?
Okay, this will probably be considered a VERY dumb question but I have to ask....if I had my tubes, uterus and cervix removed, where are my ovaries? I mean, are they just squishing around down there in my abdomen all willy-nilly or does the doctor actually attach them to anything?
I plan on asking him on Wednesday for my 6 week post-op check up anyway but I was just curious is anyone knew.

Where'd my ovaries go?
Not a dumb question at all! I wondered the same thing. My guess is that they are connected to tissue and that is how they stay in place. I pictured them swinging around in there every time I walked. Isn't it funny what we think of? But it's a legitimate question.

Where'd my ovaries go?
I was wonder where my eggs went since my tubes, cervix and uterus were gone, do they just float around my abdominal cavity? I found out that my body just absorbs them shortly after they are released!!!!! HAHAHA

Where'd my ovaries go?
I was joking around with my husband the other day and posed this question to him and I told him I'd be VERY upset should I wake up one morning with this little lump sticking up off one of my collarbones and it ends up being one of my ovaries.
I know, I know...that won't happen but I just thought it was a funny mental image.

Where'd my ovaries go?
As I understand, they just kind of float around and fill in where everything else was taken from. I look at it this way -- the trashy neighbor moved out and Mr. & Mrs. Ovary now have a much larger flat.

Where'd my ovaries go?
I did ask my doc about this, it is funny how we are all wondering the same thing...
I had uterus, cervix and 1 tube taken out. What I recall my doc saying was that the "parts" still in there are kind of anchored in there. I'm sorry I don't recall exactly the terminology he used, but no, they don't just float around. When they do the surgery, they actually have to unattach those things that are coming out.
Hope that helps!

Where'd my ovaries go?
There are several ligaments which attach the female anatomy to the abdominal wall. The ovaries have their own ligaments. The doctors cut through the uterine ligaments and the ligaments which hold the fallopian tubes in place to remove those parts. The ovaries are still attached to where they were before.
I found this information out when I was researching the terminology which was used in my surgery report.

Where'd my ovaries go?
For the record, I didn't think of them as bouncing around like pinballs... just that they now had more room to "hang" so to speak...
