Question about children

I am not sure that I am really supposed to be bringing this up but I often wonder how many of you have them and if so how many and how long after you had your last did you have to have a hysto?

I was blessed with 3 and had to have a hysto 15 months after my DD was born. We are lucky to have her. My uterus grew into my muscles of my abdominal wall. Very painfull!

Question about children

Anita, I have 4 children and my youngest just turned 4 in September. It was after the birth of my youngest, when menses returned, that most of my problems began. It really surprised me that my diagnosis was endometriosis (confirmed during surgery), since I hadn't had symptoms until so late. I really had expected something more along the lines of adenomyosis.

Question about children

I have 3 children, 12-7-4, and we are blessed, blessed, blessed. Had a hard time getting preg. without having lap's. to clean out endometriosis & managed to get pregnant within 3 months of having the laps.

Figured we are happy with our family and taking this step was the best intrest for my health even if my heart has to grown into it...

Question about children

I have 3 children, 19-14-12. While I was pregnant was the only time I was not having problems. BCP's didn't work for flow, pain or pregnancy(was on BCP when I became pregnant with 2nd child) I had a tubaligation the morning after my 3rd child was born, because I was told "I was too young for a hysterectomy". I guess 12 years later I am finally old enough to have a life without shutting down for the pain or carrying a bag of clothes with me. Ironically I still have to purchase supplies since my last menses coincided with my DD's first menses.

Question about children

I was blessed with my DS 11 yrs ago. Never was supposed to be able to carry full term, but here he is! Had a tubal 8 yrs ago and removal of 1 ovary and tube last year. This year the hyst was a necessity that just couldn't be put off any longer.

Question about children

We have 2 DD's a 9yo and a just turned 3yo .... Our 3yo wasnt meant to be, because of all my treatments I had had the Doctors all told me I would not have any more children .... exactly 1 month after being told that I was pregnant! .... but it was a scary pregnancy as it was in the back of mind the whole time that I may miscarry ... but thankfully everything went fine

Question about children

It is amazing all of the different things that we have been through. It is interesting to hear why others have had to have a hysterectomy. I feel so alone and here you all are in the same boat. It is nice that I found you.

Question about children

I have a wonderful 12 yo son and I was never able to get pregnant again, I did not start having problems until 3 yrs ago. I did however have adenomyosis and that is the cause of me not getting pregnant at least thats what the dr. told me. We do consider our selves blessed with our DS.

Question about children

I've had nine children plus three miscarriages. The m/c's were sporadic and we never knew why they happened-- one was ectopic and made every other pregnancy a mental wreck for me until I knew that each one was in my uterus and not about to kill me.

My adeno-like symptoms started when I was 30 right after I had #4. They got more annoying over time. I'm 38 now and I have to admit, seeing a straight GYN as opposed to various OB/Gyns has made a huge difference. The last guy-- ugh. What a jerk. He was supposedly Dr. Wonderful Flowing Happy Christian Ultra OB Guy but his staff was terrible, like the Plastics in Mean Girls-- they told me that I was bleeding because I was getting older and rolled their eyes as he examined me and I told him what was going on. I felt embarrassed. He was kind of wimpy and sided with them (there are more patients who need help than nurses who need jobs.) I quit telling them about my problems. My GYN was furious when I went for six months without telling him about extra bleeding and has me call him every three months to tell him how I am doing. "Bleeding is not typical of getting older and this office will never suggest that. It can also be a sign of something that can kill you, coupled with other problems." I respect that.

My youngest is two years old and I have had my tubes tied. I almost had a hysterectomy just last week but it's not an emergency and we are trying to get out of debt so I am putting it off for a year or two. Agestin has the bleeding under control for now. If I have no more problems for a while we will discuss a hysterectomy in a couple of years.

Question about children

26 years after DD was born -- almost to the date -- surgery was on Sept 13 and her birthdate is sept 15 --

mayny years of problems -- only to be told it was normal and that I was to young.

But with the knowledge of what we learned with me after my surgery - and the problems that DD is having -- she knows some of the things to have her doc try and what not to do. she is not having the intense issues that I was ( that i sucked up month after month after month and year after year after year) but at least she is aware to look for
