Anyone end up with a hernia?

I had my surgery a year ago and when I went back for my six month check, my doctor found a large incisional hernia near my belly button. I wasn't surprised because I had seen the bulge and felt the big hard spot for weeks before that.

The doctor said I would have to have more surgery to repair it. Fun.

I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

Anyone end up with a hernia?

I have read of ladies on the site developing incisional hernias following their hysterectomy. You can do a site search to find those threads if you would like. We also have some hernia information in the Resource Database.

I hope the surgery to repair the hernia goes smoothly for you! S

Anyone end up with a hernia?

i got one from abdominal surgery (not my lsh). it was repaired through an incision in my belly button. it wasnt done laparoscopically..he was just able to cut almost in my bb and repair it. i didnt get mesh since my mom had a problem with a mesh allergy from hers and needed more surgery. it was done outpatient...i wasnt there long at all and it was very easy to recover from.

Anyone end up with a hernia?

Hi there,

I had a vertical incision with my first csection. I got a hernia....had it repaired with a mesh. They recut my csection incision, and fixed it. It was outpatient surgery and really didn't hurt like the csection. They don't cut through your muscles, it is all outer work. I believe.
