F&R, I'm sorry about your ds, I still think a journal is a good thing even if you are depressed, and I really liked the addition you put on it! It's not going to make things go away, and it's not going to automatically make you feel grateful, but if you can at least get your mind to go to the place where you can think of things to be grateful for, even the basics, it's a start, and eventually, you can do it with feeling and meaning. I did exactly that when I was in a severe depression, and it helped just to get it out and remember even if I wasn't grateful at the moment for them, I did have blessings in my life worth living for. I'm so glad he'll talk to you, but if he has a private place to vent, rant and rave, be sad, whatever he's feeling, that's safe and he feels he can be honest and not hurt anyone with his thoughts, maybe it will help him process whatever he's going through. Don't hesitate to get him counseling either if you're concerned. I swear it saved my life, so I know it can help. I'll keep you both in prayers, I'm so sorry, as a mom there's nothing worse than watching your kids in pain.

Sorry, I REFUSE to use one of those weekly pill things! That means I'm old and senile, and I may be senile, but I'm not old yet!

LOL...I've been fighting with myself about buying one of those and the fact that I'm only 41...I'm not ready for that stage in my life to begin...I wasn't planning on this whole process making me feel so OLD all of a sudden!!

AND fat...even though I've lost 8 lbs or more, I had to put on my fat jeans today and only made it 1/2 way through the day...my face and neck look thinner, but my middle is mocking me!

Fit & Ready--did you quit smoking before or after surgery? I haven't had a cigarette since the night before the "big day"...good for you if quitting, too!!!

Annie1998.... you hit home for me... my husband told me tonight he would almost rather me be up and down emotionally like I was a couple of weeks ago, because at least he knew what I was thinking.. he said today he can't read me at as I don't have many reactions.

I'm tired lately and starting to have some of the aches and pains you all have mentioned, maybe I'm tired of reacting......

Note to self... lifting the fish tank to clean, no matter how dirty the water is, no matter how much you're wondering how could they possibly swim in that murkey stuff, no matter how much you need the pot the water is acclimating in to make pasta, moving the fish tank yourself is a BAD idea!

Probably a good idea! My dh had fits, but then, he'd been promising me for 2 weeks he'd help, and yet... Okay, I'll hang my Superwoman cape back in the closet for now

I think you have me and fit&ready mixed up with the smoking thing.. i'm the one that quit. And i quit before the surgery... Dec. 1st to be exact. Tried everything in the past and my dr. finally gave me a prescription for chantix. I really didn't think it would work either, but i hated the idea of dying for a cigarette while in the hospital... SO i started taking chantix on Dec. 1st and it WORKED!!! It's amazing.... i'm SO thrilled to not feel like i need those things anymore!! If you quit.. congratulations!! It's the HARDEST thing to quit!!
