but what a difference going from tyln. 3 to motrin makes. i feel awake again. did the first weigh in since surgery. only lost 4 lbs but still no bm. hoping that helps a bit more.
dh went back to work today- so had to actually make my own breakfast. youngest son is still sleeping. teenager on school break what else would they do.
the sun is out beautiful here bouncing off the litttle snow we have. wish i could out for a walk.... patience is not my best feature!

Hot flashes kicked in last night. Between them and having to kick the cats off my feet repeatedly, I didn't sleep as well as I should have.

Ok, I feel good today! I drove to the post office and bank - all by myself! My instructions said no driving until I go back after 4 weeks to see my doctor, so I called them today and she said as long as I am not taking any pain pills, then I am fine to drive!!!! I need to be able to drive next week since my DH has to go back to work and DD has to go back to school. I am upset that DS has to go back to daycare and my DH will be taking him. But after I pick DD up at school, we are going to pick up DS at daycare. I can't live all day without him!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I am also trying to clean up around here since my type of clean isn't everyone elses!

I ended up with TAH, one ovary removed, vaginal incision also for extensive bowel repair...so I'm cut in both places. The endo really messed with the right ovary. Doc and I had agreed to take both ovaries if there was endo, but he left one...still not sure why...but I'm relieved that I'm not on hormones anyway. I was in castle until late Friday. First night was good. Second night at home had fever and nausea and total freakout with DH who can't hear me, wasn't checking on me, doesn't get it. After late night run for anitbiotics and phenagrin, it all settled down. At that point I awas thinking DH should definitely stand for something else!
Christmas eve was tearful and very difficult...nothing special...no glow. Missed church. Today I'm trying to have a better attitude. The pain is not too bad...unless I'm having a bm, then it's really not good...oh well...another walk down the hall...see you sisters.

Mollie -

Sorry to hear about your recovery not going so good. I am having trouble this morning with BM and I am trying not to strain so that it isn't painful. Make sure you are taking Colace or some stool softener so that you don't have so much pain. Good Luck!

I know how you feel, it's hard to let others do everything when you are used to being the one that does it all. I did get my son to vacuum the living room for me today though I hauled out all the trash. My surgery was a week ago yesterday and I am feeling pretty good. I hit my emotional rock bottom between days 4-6 but am doing so much better now. Ibuprofen helps a lot. Still relying on the prunes to help with BMs which are still painful and only every couple of days. Last night was my first real meal since surgery. Maybe it helps that it was mom's cooking! Hope everyone else is doing well. I appreciate everyone sharing their stories. It helps knowing there are others out there going through the same thing. Things are always better in numbers.

I've had a couple of crying jags myself, not anything major, which surprises me because I'm usually VERY emotional. Someone mentioned the combination of post-op stress coupled w/holiday stress......I think that's what my problem was.......I want everything to be "perfect" but just absolutely don't have to energy to make it happen! Thankfully, my kids are easy to please.

Someone else asked, "How much is too much?" That's a good question! I told my husband today I wished there was some kind of meter you could wear that would sound off when you're about to reach that magical "too much" mark. The problem for me has been, I feel fine, get up, start doing stuff, keep doing stuff cuz it's not bothering me, and then WHAM! I feel like I've been knocked over and have to crawl into bed!!!! Of course, I'm only 1 week post-op, but I'm a little concerned about going back to teaching on 1/7.....(teacher inservice starts 1/3). Am I really going to be up for a full day of teaching 8th graders?!?!

Like someone else said (Sorry, read so many posts as once, can't keep up w/the names!)..........

I'd get a sub for at least 2 weeks if I were you... I'm wondering if I'll be ready when I go back in February! I can't imagine going back in January -- I'm keeping to studio lessons and other light stuff, I'm not going to even sub for anyone during this period!

Hi all, I was really sore last night I could not figure out why but I guess I sat to much I was walking and sitting but not walking and lying down....I am tired of the bed....it caught up with me because I did to much sitting. The house is driving me insane I have dust bunnies with golden retreiver hair sticking their tongues out at me....can't have DH do to much as he is still weak from anemia (for those of you who read my ordeal know that we were both in Castle at same time not planned that way) any who....he is already doing for me and DS who also needs help (has CP) so I can't ask him to do to much.....laundry is growing ugh......I wish I could do more...but I have already felt the effects of doing to much so I won't Thanks for listening......

Today I am feeling a bit better. Yesterday was bad. I had a migraine on top of all this! I got tylenol3 and felt much better. I have only taken 1 shower, but up to trying to atleast wash my hiar today. I have been sponge bathing myself and shaving from bed, but really wanna wash my hair today. DH went to buy me a couple more night gowns, pants make me sore,,,so do undies. so I am trying to sty undie and pant free while I can. It's much easier in the bathroom. I STILL haven't had a bm yet. I called dr today and she didn't seem concermed. As long as I ahve no fever, nausea, vomiting and I am peeing, she's ok with it...
Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

fit&ready, I had to laugh at what you said about watching the Lifetime channel! Those movies get me every time! A day or two after surgery, I was watching one of those movies w/my DH, and I just burst into tears. He asked if maybe we should be watching the SciFi channel instead!

soprano2--I guess I'll ask my dr. when I go for my check-up tomorrow what he thinks. Although my principal has been very supportive, I guess I'm just scared to ask for that much time off....no rational reason to be afraid......I just wanna cry about thinking about going back, and I wanna cry about NOT going back....

and scorpio61, I thought sitting would be considered "bed rest" too, but found out it's not! I guess maybe it puts too much pressure on your lower end, but I've had to make myself lie down too instead of sitting up too much.

I discovered yesterday that being outdoors, even if for just a few minutes, really did help my disposition. My DD & I went for a "walk" all the way across the street and back! ha! I'll try to go a little farther today.
