I have a strange quesiton - oh big suprise from me huh?!

Is anyone feeling manic? or have I just offically lost my mind? I feel like the Tazmanian devil running around in 50 million directions at the same time, yet accomplishing nothing! Maybe it's because it feels like there's so much to get done, and so much I haven't done the past 5 weeks that I feel I have to get it all done (including my dd's homework) in the next 5 minutes or I'll explode. I haven't sat down for 5 mintues today, unless it was to sew a botton on a shirt - no wait, I did that standing, or type reports, or now visiting you all, and yet I race down the hall to do something and by the time I get there, (it's only about 10 feet) I can't remember why I headed that direction for the life of me. Oh brother. I think I need one of those valiums before I unravel!

No snow today, which adds to my frustration level, I should know by now when the weathermen say it's going to happen, it's not!

Kristen--the other day, about every fifth word I could NOT get to the tip of my tongue. I would have to just stop and try to "squeeze" it out while my conversational companion tried to guess what I was saying. It was SO frustrating. I kept apologizing, saying "it's menopause brain!"

Hopefully not a permanent condition for either of us!

Kristen...You described my behavior today to a tee! I chalked it up to panic, too; I'm scheduled to return to work Thursday. I found a list today of some minor things I wanted to get done during the time off. Guess what.....I didn't even attempt any of them! So much for "six weeks is an eternity". I can't believe it's over; I love my job, my boss and my coworkers but I don't want to go back!!!

curly88 I was wondering the same thing. I only follow this thread too.

As far as dh goes, I think they all must be at the same stage, comfortable we are healing well and finding it necessary to turn their attention on work. I just pull out the heating pad from time to time to remind him I still appreciate some tlc.

My 5 1/2 week dr. appt is today. I must make sure I have my list of questions ready

Good morning!

I'm not having the manic thing happening... but i have definitely had the struggle with finding words in my head thing like HouseMDfan has had!! That's SO frustrating!!

My thing is that I feel a panic coming on that I have to go back to work (next week full-time, but this week I'm easing back into a few things) and I still have SO much to do around my house that has been neglected throughout my recovery!! I get up everyday with good intentions to get things done and then I get so over-whelmed that I end up crawling back in bed and doing NOTHING at all!!!

BUT..... today is going to be different. I AM going to get a few things accomplished.. maybe not everything I want, but a FEW things so i'll make baby steps and hopefully get there by the end of the week!!

Hope you all have a good day....

Good morning ladies....I missed my eye doc appointment, thought I remembered the time and didn't check my date book....I have never done that.....so the menopause mind farts begin....(actually continue)

Annie - don't worry about having everything done before you go to work....the time you have to rest and lounge around you WON"T have once you go back, the chores can still be done once you are back in bits and pieces....once you lose a rest period, you can't get that back....extra rest will make the return to work next week better. I am in the same boat as you.. I think I will try on my pants later this week to see if I need to make an emergency run to Target or Walmart to get something professional looking yet, stretchy....

I think I am going to attempt to shave my legs today for the first time since before my surgery...better make sure I have some new blades

I see they gyn tomorrow for post op and I guess will be examined so I should attempt to remove the forest....

I had two pillow shams that match the quilt I bought from QVC on waitlist and they just let me know they are sending them out...I am so excited....
I started a gratitude journal this morning. I use the front of the page to write what I am grateful for and the back of the page to log and plan my eating for the day. That was how I lost the 50 pounds so I am going back to the same strategy that worked. I usually write the night befiore, plan it out, calculate calories, carbs, proteins and fats and I am good to go...lets see if menopause gets in the way of this....

Someone asked if this is the only thread they use, I puruse the whole board and read and/or reply to anything that sounds interesting. OUr week for surgery has more posts than many of the others, guess we have all bonded, or course it is possible we had more women having surgery in that week than others, but I was excited to see how many posts we have in our week (OK what other kind of competition can you have when recovering from a hyst!!!!)
Off to shave (besides the doc., if I have a friend willing to provice HBI once I am cleared, I need to at least have legs that look like human legs and not magilla gorillas....men get bald and grow hair out of their nose and ears, women lose hair and grow it on our faces....just doesn't seem fair.....

Have a great gratitude filled day and catch you all later...(I write too much I am clearly adult deprived.....) - Suzyq

Had my 6 wk postop today...cleared to do what I'd like as I feel ready...says I'm 95% healed, now to get my energy built back up---compared me to a football player who's gone soft, can't play in the Superbowl yet...I live in Texas...football means everything here I guess!
Thank goodness the exam was much easier than 3 weeks ago...I go back in 3 months.
So, that means back to work part time tomorrow...staff meeting bright and early. Hope I'm ready for this! I'm a little concerned about the a.m. crying jabs, and keeping those under control...although at the dr. office I told him I thought being at work would be helpful because I feel so isolated lately at home! He offered something and I said not yet...wait and see what the week at work brings. I don't know now if that was wise or not, but I can always call him and ask for "something"...would that be HRT if I have one ovary left? Why didn't I ask him that? Why do I clam up at the dr.'s office???????
Oh well, a little more spring cleaning at home today...hope everyone is doing ok...I'll be checking in when I have a minute.

I also usually read and reply to other threads if they apply to me or my experiences. Although this is the only thread that I heavily follow all the posts on.

On the HBI topic - last night was successful, enjoyable, and we just went slow. I had had a few glasses of wine with our friends for dinner, so I think that helped too. Good luck ladies!

Hope everyone has a grreat day today!
